Honestly, I think having it documented here in the thread is sufficient.

It only matters if you have a user who both hides those fields and wants to record them.

Interesting. Several of them say 'no longer efiction' - is there a definition for efiction?

Googling 'efiction' gets a specific archiving software, but I'm not sure if it's that specifically or a more generic term for the types of sites FFF works with.

(Confusing: When I was checking Wikipedia, one of the suggested results was 'urination' )

As you've already found, eFiction is (was?) a popular fanfiction hosting software.

Speaking off the cuff, I believe that support and interest for eFiction has waned in recent years, due in large part to the rise of AO3 as a more inclusive alternate to ffnet.

In 2014 John Doe contributed code for the base_efiction_adapter that can be used with many (most?) eFiction sites with much less custom coding than before.

FFF supports 22 sites using base_efiction and many more with site specific code. Any site with story URLs containing viewstory.php is +90% eFiction.

I believe the change history of John Doe's contribs have been buried between the switch from code.google to github and later dir restructuring, but they should be acknowledged.

That particular story, in chapter 22 contains a couple <a> tags that have href="":

The fix_relative_text_links code wasn't expecting that particular mistake.

I was looking through supported sites and was surprised to not see

"furaffinity.net"

Was it rejected for some reason?

There's a lot of adapters to maintain, so Jim isn't working on new ones. Additionally, not all sites are conductive to being downloaded by FFF (e.g. livejournal it's impossible to figure out which posts are the stories, and various other sites are just static pages).

I don't think furaffinity.net was ever requested. Looking it, it's not a good candidate. The first 3 stories I clicked on were actually posted in pdf, docx and text.

Currently, fff_failed gets marked for 'already have x chapters' and 'site is not newer' errors. I'd like to have error'd books get marked but skip the no-updates. Would it be much work to have a 'for all errors' option like the one for the error column?

Additionally: AO3 stories put into a hidden collection get a 'NoneType' error. It might make sense to have a unique error for this. Example link (login required).

Could be done, but the logic gets convoluted to both allow this and preserve existing behavior.

Would anyone else like to see this added?

Interesting. AO3 leaks info about 'hidden' stories: title, author and chapter name list are visible if you hit the navigate link.

We already have a check for "This work is part of an ongoing challenge and will be revealed soon!", but it doesn't look after login. Added.

Where did you even get the hidden story link from? It's not visible on the hidden collection page, the author's page, or found in search.
