Test #3a
Right now I'm steeping two touchas of NBT's pu-erh that were washed for 30 seconds before putting them into the mug. I don't have high hopes... EDIT: Astra, I tried the shorter wash time, and I tried doubling the amount of tea... Result: still no aroma and no flavor for this tea. There is one more toucha sample in the box... #5, I believe. Let's see if that's any different. The un-named toucha that i bought from the Chinese import shop was 5x better than the NBT #3. Although I didn't really love the qualities of that tea, at least it had some to evaluate! #3 had neither aroma nor flavor. All it had was color. We're all crazy about soup in my family. We eat it every day, even in summer. In my case: a couple of times a day. And my mom always made soup out of fresh vegetables, often vegetables that came straight from our garden. So I went from watching my mom making soup to helping her cut the vegetables to making soup under her supervision to making my own soup. She's an amazing cook, she cooked every night for the last 35 years. I'm still a student ![]() People who don't know me are often amazed when I tell them I cook every day, even when it's just for me. And I always use fresh vegetables, I can't stand any of those frozen, prepared vegetables they sell in the supermarkets. In my cup: mango and peach tea to start the day. |

Ahmad Earl Grey tea, and rose-hip jam muffin #1!
I won't be seeing my new reader for another week or so, I had it sent to my mum's, as I'm going to be visiting for a while and I was scared that I wouldn't get it in time, but my trip got pushed back a bit. That's o.k., though, distance makes the heart grow fonder! |

Ahmad Hampton Breakfast.
Average at the best. 5/10. Certainly better than Twinings English Breakfast. Whether it is better than New English Tea English Breakfast? Not sure anymore. I like the malty flavour of Assam, like in Assam Mangalam in the latter. I even experimented and took Hampton B. home over a weekend. It didn't improve the flavour. It is quite possible, that I am all the way straight and like only teas on their own. Like Taylors of Harrogate Ceylon or Assam Harmutty. We will see after I get good blends from East India Company (Royal Breakfast) and Fortnum and Mason (Royal Blend, Breakfast Blend, Queen Anne Blend) ![]() Btw., I didn't find in any of these English Breakfast. Only Taylors of Harrogate has a tea with such name. A cup of Ahmad Hampton Breakfast ![]() |
