I use colisexpat.com. For 0.90 Euros a year, I get the equivalent of PO Boxes in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany.

Of course, the site's main function is to act as a re-shipper, so when I search for books world-wide, and find a vendor who won't ship to the USA, there's usually *some* EU country that they will ship to. For varying fees (typically about $60 a book), the book will come to me in a few extra days via DHL.

Works great for Ebay as well.

Edited to add: Their employees know and use USHTS codes, so all of the books I bought in 2025 arrived Tariff-free.

You don't need an address for Kobo for UK or Ireland, just the country. The USA needs a ZIP code because of varying sale tax rates.

Amazon is more complicated.

Pick a state without a sales tax. Texas, Florida or Oregon for example.

I pick Alaska, which is second on the drop-down list, and the topmost option that doesn't have a sales tax.

Oh, Texas has a sales tax. The Governor is stitting on billions of dollars in internet-collected sales tax, and still refuses to fund public education adequately.

We just don't have an income tax. Maybe that's your mix-up?

Yep, correct. I got mixed up which is embarrassing since my wife is from Houston and I lived in Texas for a number of years.
