There was a LOT of brilliant lightning. We were on the 15th floor of a hotel, and the power went out for about 3 hours. The hallways were lit with emergency lighting, but the rooms (and the homes around the hotel) were black. Very eerie, looking out over the dark mountains periodically lit by the lightning flashes. Driving home today I saw that some areas were still without power. It's beautiful here now, although a bit chilly and breezy.

Good! Glad to be home, although I had fun. I took a little short trip to the mountains with my niece, her 3 kids (12, 8, and 2), and my mom. We had two adjoining rooms in a nice hotel, and the kids enjoyed the pool and the arcade and the local park. I didn't do a lot, but it was a nice weekend.

I was unable to read on my Kindle all weekend because I let my 12 year old nephew read "I Am Number Four" on it. He started it Sunday night and finished it in the car today on the way home.

I didn't mind because I'm always trying to bring new members into the Kindle fold.

No, I just didn't take my laptop with me. Yep, he does love me. Wow, though, he sure does read with a much smaller font than I do!

Glad you enjoyed NC Betty! Incoming storms hit the western side the hardest - and hopefully weaken by the time they reach us in central NC!

Today - clear, sunny, & much colder. Frost last night. But temps supposed to rise back into the 80's F by the weekend!

OMG!! It is sooooo cold! Only 38 degrees! My poor petunias may not survive. In the 3 weeks that they have been in the ground, they have endured 2 hailstorms and now it is cold. But the sun is shining and the sky is clear, so hopefully they will perk up.

here too! There was a lot of animation this morning at la défense where I work, with protesters protesting against the latest high rise building project, and a dirigible!!! Very cute looking!!! I wish I'd had time to stop and take a pic but I didn't. Nothing to do with the protesters, those were not as cute looking
