That's why I recommend long text(plain text).

Users can choose to use long text(html) instead, but I'm not going to support it and don't recommend it.

Saved Metadata is not used by Anthology books.

Note: Also set it to text if you use un_pogaz's 'Comments Cleaner' plugin, which now has a an (optional) config to also clean other HTML longtext columns. That would most definitely break FFF's column.

This is its ToC. Getting support would be nice given the extreme length of this series and EPUB format would be far preferable to reading online.

These days Jim generally isn't writing new adapters himself (just maintaining the existing ones). Perhaps try a third-party tool like WebToEpub.

As mentioned below, best you support the author by buying on Amazon.

@JimmXinu: Would a 'FanFicFare and eReaders' page be useful for the docs? Here's a rough draft:

With calibre (linked), it's possible to 'sideload' books onto a Kobo device. However, unless the 'Do not treat replacements as new books' option is enabled in  KoboTouch (or KoboTouchExtended) driver settings, re-sending the book to device will overwrite the existing one, losing the current reading position and any bookmarks or annotations.

However, when this is enabled, the Table of Contents will remain out-of-date. The Calibre plugin Kobo Utilities (linked) has the option to update it, so run the option after sending the updated story to device:

After this, simply eject the device and enjoy your story!

Additionally: Is it unavoidable (or very difficult to fix) for the 'cancel' button here to become unresponsive? I accidentally forgot to delete the URL for a some fics I didn't want and had to wait and then reject them.

pirate aba sells those stories as ebooks on Amazon. I don't (knowingly) support downloads of commercial content and there's nothing else on that site.

Dunno. I thought it did. There's some code in there that suggests it may be different on mac. I know that I added code to disable the progbar dialog Cancel button (same dialog) on calibre data update because I clicked it by accident one too many times.

Thats reasonable. Is there any issues with Kindles to be aware of? I noticed some about MOBIs in the FAQ, but I don't know if that's possibly deprecated since Amazon dropped MOBI support.

Additional question: Is it intended* or a bug/oversight that 'extra entries' defined in defaults.ini (e.g. 'collections' for AO3) appear white instead of green in the editor?

FFF's mobi output is poor and I've never recommended it--the mobi output predates my involvement. I convert epub to azw3s.

Limitation of the highlighting code--can't dynamically change the highlighting based on the content of the files being highlighted.

MOBI support was removed for 'Send to Kindle' (not sure exactly what that entails). A quick skim of this thread seems to indicate it isn't used for much. I think would be best to advise people to use AZW3 instead.

Did I miss any information from the two FAQ entries about MOBIs? (I'm more familiar with Kobo, so I'm not sure what's quite relevant or not.) My intention was to have enough that you could replace them with a link to this page.

EDIT: I also broke something when copying the max_zalgo setion from defaults.ini How do I display as intended?

Another question, related to the page: Should a add_chapter_numbers:toconly under a [storyUrl] section override a strip_chapter_numbers under [defaults]? (Kobo Utilities glitches when updating a ToC that has two items with the same title, which may happen if a user removes the numbers.)

When I tested it it didn't seem to work but I may have made a mistake.

EDIT: User error, but not the kind I was thinking of -- I mixed up the ## author - title comments on two stories with identical tweaks and was testing with the wrong one.

ANOTHER EDIT: Confirmed to work, so added to page.

Test version from either April 6 or 8. (I tested img_referrer but can't remember if I got the anthology seriesUrl fix.) (EDIT: I downloaded the April 8 version and got the same behaviour.)

The subtitle fails to map to the column. I tested with my other fics already using this setup and it won't populate an empty #subtitle column. (Preexisting values didn't get replaced with an empty, at least.)

Possible that this is related to the April 1st anthology fix, I just failed to notice before now as I don't add new subtitles too often.

If custom_column_settings for storyUrl is too hard to fix, I think I can use the static include_in_* instead. (EDIT: It worked! But I'll wait for confirmation before converting the rest of my subtitled stories over.)

It would seem that FFN sets this one up nicely when creating an Anthology with single page books (from AO3 at least).
