Dinner. Broiled salmon with steamed asparagus and zucchini. Quick, simple, healthy, yummy. Wish I had some wine to go with.

Which makes me wish I was eating at your house. How-some-ever, I just finished a little bit of chicken and some Welch's Grape soda ... which is staying in my body (yaaaaaay!!) |

Celebrating over chicken and grape soda staying within one's body is a terribly distressing thought. I feel for you. And I almost hate to ask but what is a typical "successful" meal for you, Ricky?

![]() I suppose my favorite thing to make is a Thai chicken ceasar salad. However, it is almost impossible to get the ingredients in this part of Texas ... I know, I've looked (all over Austin in fact). So, whenever I get to San Diego, I pick up a few bottles of this and that to bring home. Oh .... and pshrynk .... I found your tablet PC online at Best Buy. Very nice, but not something that I would be able to use, unfortunately. Too many of the programs that I absolutely have to have on my computer simply do not work on 64 bit machines. Sad, I know, but there you have it. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be happy with my 32 bit Toshiba. ![]() |

I had a dog I used to feed residues from strawberry wine I made. She loved the stuff. Five minutes later she'd start wobbling and singing (in her way) and thirty minutes later, drop down and snore loudly. She'd sleep for six hours with no way to wake her and then try to stand with a nowhere look in her face. She'd start to squeal in pain and try to find a quieter place to be. Imagine being a dog with every hair hurting? Ouch!

Oh, I dunno. I was about to go try it myself. Sort of a validations tudy type of thing. But I don't make strawberry wine. Wonder if my dog would like the beer talings?

Since we are back around to talking dogs, Marc, I'd enjoy seeing some of your dog photography, if it's online anywhere.

From the time I was 10 until I was maybe 19 (when he passed away from cancer), I had a cat who had a real problem with alcohol. Whenever my mom would have a party, he'd wait until everyone had gone into the family room to dance ... then he'd get up on the coffee table in the front room and start drinking everyone's drinks.
The next morning, I would usually find him with a severe hangover on my mom's bed. Generally he'd be splayed out (head down) on one of her pillows and would meow mournfully through most of the morning. I would do my best to get him rehydrated (you can't give cats aspirin or most other analgesics), and usually move him to my room (where he could be in the dark and quiet with no one bothering him). I guess he just liked the dizzy feeling. The reason I think this might have been the case is that his favorite game was to have me spread out a blanket, then he'd go sit in the middle of the blanket, then I would gather up all the corners, and spin the blanket around my head several times. When I put it down, he'd stumble around for a minute or so, and then go sit in the middle of the blanket. I would give him another ride ... and we would repeat this process until he decided it was enough. As an adult, if I didn't know he actually liked it, I would think it was abuse myself. But, that boy was an alcoholic who loved carnival rides. ![]() |
