yep, quite surprising -- even made me look it up and learn more, something you usually don't do with physical books from the lazy couch. Score for e-books!

Solid story development, precise analytical reasoning by Sherlock and wonderful narrator and story-teller that Mr. Watson too.

I'll get a break from Sherlock for now but am sure to return for his many other adventures.

The Mormons arrived in Britain at the very beginning of the reign of Queen Victoria, so it is likely that Doyle would have read about the Church and the Danites. A Study in Scarlet was first published in 1887, the very same year that Buffalo Bill took his Wild West Show to Britain, in celebration of the Jubilee year of Queen Victoria.

The definite "WOW" book is the Hunger Games trilogy.

I would pass on the Firefly comics though. It's just not the same.

Besides Zack Whedon destroyed all that is "shiny" with his Shepherd Book tale.

And I am definitely sorry to hear all the negativity regarding Firefly here, I guess not everyone can understand the allure of THE SINGLE GREATEST CREATION OF HUMANKIND
