OK, then how about someplace where they go in for stuffy and compulsory public events. Pyongyang?

No, Sydney's streets are quite narrow because they just grew rather than being laid out formally - around the Harbour anyway.
Rio de Janeiro? |

Wow! We have a winner!
Fbone gave the correct answer with Buenos Aires Birthplace of the Tango, (they dance up a storm!) Buenos Aires is home to Avenida 9 de Julio, seven lanes in each direction and flanked on either side by parallel streets of two lanes each. They say it takes about two and a half minutes to walk across! Take it away, Fbone! Stitchawl |

Thank you.
Here's an easy one. Who created the world's fastest computer? Who was it made for and why? The correct answer to the second question wins. |

Darn it, I remember watching a documentary on the history of computers and they talked about this. Maybe I can help jog some memories for someone. I'm pretty sure the inventor is African and he liked bees...the computer processors are in a honeycomb design or something like that. I have no idea who the computer was for or what it was used for...sorry.

I think alishajordan may be on the right track, but if not, was it Big Blue, developed by IBM to play chess?
