I just saw a stupid Amazon sale. 100 books under $4. I'm totally going to be off the wagon as I see a Lisa See book on the list already.

Someone help me.
Was the Lisa See book already on your wishlist? If yes, then buy it with a clear conscience. If not, you already have plenty of books ahead of it in your queue. Wait until you've cleared the decks a bit AND it's a pressing want. Don't let the price be the driving factor.

But, but, I really liked Snowflower and I've been good and I've only bought one book in the last two weeks and it was on my wishlist and on sale and and and you haven't even seen my queue and...

If it was already on your wishlist, go for it (I think the ethics of this group say that when a book on your wishlist hits a magic price, you are given a dispensation). If not, then step away from your device. Price should not be the determining factor, certainly not if you need to whittle down the TBR pile significantly. There's always another deal.

I finished Ulysses?

Actually I read some of the one-star reviews and I think the cold sweat has passed.

Reading Ulysses is a really bad idea. It's going to make you want to rush to your computer and buy some actually good eBooks to make up for suffering through Ulysses.

I bought an eBook for the book club. But it was 1/2 price so it was the cheapest possible.

1/2 price is not the cheapest possible. FREE is the cheapest possible.

(Well, unless you can find someone who'll pay you to read books. It does happen on occasion.)

I took one look at my CC bill for next month, and disabled internet shopping.
Luckily, I recently discovered that I can download free e-books from BN , and I have library books. Plus I can always re-read the books I already have.

H, I am new to this thread but have been on the site for awhile. I think I may be an addict. I have had numerous friends recommend the Discworld Series to me so I broke down after reading a sample and purchased the whole series for my kindle. Can I use my birthday being this month as a validation for my lapse? Keeping in mind I have 200+ books to be read on kindle already, as well as around 130 on my nook

Nope, a birthday doesn't excuse ebooks that you bought. You clearly have a serious problem (but very good taste).

What you should have done was add the Diskworld books to your wish list, and then waited until either
  1. Your TBR piles were reduced to near zero
  2. There was a sale on the Diskworld books.

Learn from this experience. Keep an eye on the diskworld ebooks and note how many are still in your TBR pile when a sale comes along!

Augh... I've been reminded that I don't have the last two discworld novels yet. And they're relatively cheap at the moment.

But they're not on special offer. I must resist. Add them to my wish list, that's the ticket. I'm sure we have a paper copies about the house if I really must read them now.

Wait for a Pratchett special offer. That's what I must do.

That was a close call!
