Nah, not here. People on MR tend to be a lot more aware of such things than the average Joe

Are you kidding? Most Americans can't spell the American versions of words.

I gave up on correcting people; it's pointless, there might be 5 people left who care anymore (and nomesque appears to have met one of them). Yes, it pisses me off; yes, I realize there's nothing I can do about it.

I think they're suing English teachers for correcting students now.

You're a very special lady! I thought teens were the only folks who lied about being older, and then mostly to buy beer and get into clubs!

Uh huh. I do occasionally have the opposite problem, because I write manuals in US English all day then write fiction in Australian English. While that doesn't exactly make me multilingual, it does sometimes give me a headache... or a sudden urge to replace ALL s's with z'z!

Uh huh. It's much the same in Australia. Except Aussie words Although, thanks to the large amount of US content on our TVs, many of us try to dial '911' before remembering that our emergency number is '000'

I don't correct people unless they really irritate me with the bad spelling. I don't mind people correcting my ebooks - in fact I appreciate it - IF it's an actual misspelling.

Damn tv shows and their "coming up next on...." Yeah. Keep me entertained for 3-5mins, show a 1-2min preview off what is coming up right after the commercial and everything good in that preview too! I am so sick of "coming up next on..."

You could have a nickle for every time you saw that, but a nickel would be worth more.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
