Thanks! Somewhat to my surprise, I did get it, but I have about seven or eight other review copies that are coming out before it does, so I have to use some time management skills and read/review those first. Which means I have to have patience, which is not my strong suit ...

A few years on, Among the Mad is now $1.99 in the US. The links below are still good.

The second book, Ordeal by Fire, has now dropped to $0.99 in the US, if you didn't pick it up in the omnibus...

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FL7I68O

Oh, and the other individual books are no longer on sale, but the omnibus is still $5.99, as of right now.

Books in this series seem to go on sale a fair amount in the UK, less so in the US. I've read a few of the books in this series and liked all that I've read.

The Bradecote & Catchpoll series: Books 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 contains the three titles above and also Ordeal by Fire, #2, and Marked to Die, #3.

Kobo US, where it is $6.99, not $5.99, but also discountable, bringing the price quite close to $5.99 if you have a coupon code or VIP membership: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/the...tchpoll-series

James Patterson's latest Alex Cross book, The House of Cross, is £1.99 in the UK right now. The website can't make up its mind on whether it's the 32nd or 33rd book in the series, and I don't have time to count, but here are links:

Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CTMHRYSS
Kobo UK: https://www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/the-house-of-cross

Spoiler:
Quote:
It’s time to put the guns down, Detective Cross. Even if you knew the way out of this place, we would catch you.

A serial killer is taking out America’s finest legal minds, and Alex Cross is called to investigate their brutal murders.

But during a dangerous mission to track down the killer, his wife, Bree, and best friend, John Sampson, go missing.

To save the people he loves most, Cross has only three goals:

Number one: Find Bree and John.
Number two: Escape.
Number three: Survive.

If he fails, there will be no one left in the House of Cross.

Goodreads counts 'Cross Down' als #31 and says it's #33, FantasticFiction doesn't count 'Cross Down' and calls it #32. So take your pick...

Facets of Death is now $0.99 in the US, although with different links, so perhaps a different publisher? Or maybe just a new edits. In any case, you'll probably want to check before you buy...

Blood Runs Thicker is the eighth in Sarah Hawkswood's Bradecote/Catchpoll series. It's on sale for $0.99 right now at Kindle US, but not matched at Kobo US. I had a review copy of this when it came out, and liked it well enough (4 stars), although it was a bit bleak when it came to the lives of the women in the story. But I suspect the lives of many women in medieval times were pretty bleak - although when I'm reading for fun, I may not want to acknowledge that . And the rest of the story was pretty good.

Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GP3C513

Spoiler:
Quote:
When an irascible lord is found murdered, undersheriff Bradecote and serjeant Catchpoll are summoned to investigate.

August 1144. Osbern de Lench is known far and wide as a hard master, whose temper is perpetually frayed. After his daily ride to survey his land, his horse returns to the hall riderless, and the lifeless body of the lord is found soon after. Was it the work of thieves, or something closer to home?

With an heir who is cast in the same hot-tempered mould, sworn enemies for neighbours and something amiss in the relationship between Osbern and his wife, undersheriff Hugh Bradecote, the wily Serjeant Catchpoll and his apprentice Walkelin have suspects aplenty.

Three Joffe freebies right now, two of which are from cozy series that I liked back in DTB days, and for which they must have gotten the rights.

'Tis the Season to Be Murdered is the seasonally appropriate eighth book in the Susan Henshaw series by Valerie Wolzien
Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081JXHG2H
Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B081JXHG2H

The Thin Woman would probably be more appropriate in January, but January is not that far away! It's the first in the Ellie Haskell series by Dorothy Cannell
Kindle US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BYZPCHJV
Kindle UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BYZPCHJV

Death by the Mistletoe, by Angus MacVicar, sounds seasonally appropriate, but the blurb says it takes place in June. So maybe not! (This is the one I haven't read before.)

These three books are now all $0.99/£0.99 each from Joffe. The links are different, so maybe this is another buying spree by Joffe? My earlier editions are from Berkley.
