LOL very shiny picture. It's Gorram shiny, even.

Take my love,
take my land,
take me where I cannot stand,
I don't care,
I'm still free,
You can't take the sky from me.

Yes!! I love Hal Hartley's movies, the dialogue is brilliant and the framing is always odd. This particular movie was the first Hartley I saw, and when I watch it now is tinged with sadness as Adrienne Shelley, the woman in the picture above, was murdered She was also a very talented writer and director, her directorial debut Waitress is also worth a watch.

Here's a clip of Trust for those uninitiated.

Also, I couldn't resist putting up this clip from another Hartley movie "Simple Men"

Oh yeah, I rewound some of the dialogues a couple of times, 'cause I couldn't get enough of them. I especially liked the scene, where Matthew wanted Maria to let herself fall so he could catch her and prove her she can trust him and then they were about to switch roles but didn't get to it, 'cause something came up. I don't precisely remember how the dialogue went, but it was great, the whole idea of the movie was contained in it. Though I don't understand what you meant with the odd framing remark, I don't know the term.

The next movie riddle follows:

I'm normally too late to guess these - but, it's a quiet day in the office

I've been wanting to see this movie for a very long time but never got round to it (the wife couldn't be bothered). I finally watched it yesterday and loved every second of it...

The next movie riddle follows:

By 'framing' I meant the composition of the shots. They're so memorable, as in the clip I linked above. Its like each shot could be a painting or a beautifully caught moment in a photograph. Hartley never goes for the obvious shot either. In the clip above we see the usual wide to medium to close convention, but the way Hartley frames those shots they stand out from everything else. The nearest I can think of who shares that same eye for composition is Stanley Kubrick.

Who is Hartley?
Zach Braff directed this one...

EDIT: Ignore me, having a blond moment... You were talking about a different movie!
