A factory reset does exactly what the name says: resets the device to the out of the factory state. Among other things, the partition with the books on it is reformatted.

I suppose I will have to put Calibre on my Windows Tablet then, just in case.

Now to find out how to sync Calibre....

Good to know! I thought the slightly different dimensions would have ruled out Glo cases of this style.

More Kobo being Kobo...

Went into the JB's in the Sydney CBD today. Both the Strand and Galleries Victoria stores has the Glo HD out, but they were not initialised, so all you could do was select a language, and Wifi (or not).

The Westfield main electronics store didn't even have it out on display.

The guy at the Strand said they were waiting for the Kobo guy to come out and set up the display readers.

Remember that identical screens manufactured by the same company will always have some variation of color even on the same reader with the same firmware. I have 3 Glos and all 3 have a different color, from beige, to whiter and whiter-almost-bluish (I like the white to bluish). It's very evident when they're sitting side by side. It's just the luck of the draw and the same thing happened with my Sony 350s without a light... all of them had varying degrees of different screen colors. So you probably got a tint on your H2O that you like, but easily could have gotten a more bluish color. And the Glo HD as well could have a more beige or sepia coloring rather than the "tad more bluish" that rashkae reported.

Hmmm I am aware that it's kind of luck of the draw when it comes to getting good/bad/different ereader screens of the same make and model. However it is also true that the majority of reviewers and users on mobileread made a special point of noting that their Aura H2O screen was distinctly more yellow in tone than other ereaders. Which leads me to believe that yes, variations in screens are widespread but the Kobo design/engineering team made a specific decision to provide the Aura with screens with a yellow tint.
It was, in fact, after reading such a review and then going back to my book on my Glo (my glo in particular had a very pronounced clinical, cold blue colour to it, like a UV light lol) that make me upgrade to the Aura.

Also if I rember correctly, the flat panelled Aura also had a creamier tint to it. I'm starting to think that maybe the Glo's have a different flagship screen to the Aura range maybe. Time will tell but for now I'm sticking with my H2O.

By some miracle my Glo HD just arrived (shipped on Thursday from Canada to the US via USPS Ground, 2 days). I did have to sign for it though, I just wanted to post so others in the US are warned. It came in a sturdier cardboard wrapper around the boxed reader.

And first impression... A SMOOTH SCREEN AGAIN! No more sand-papery feeling that's on the Glo, the screen is as smooth as the Sony 350s. (Yes, that weird feeling really bugged me and I never got used to it.)

And this was probably a firmware change somewhere along the line, but now when you enter your long wifi password and it fails to connect, the password is retained... no more entering it repeatedly (I forgot to disable the whitelist until I got the MAC address on first try).

It's fully set up but charging now, haven't put any books on it yet, wanted more to post about a signature required.

I kinda liked the sand-paper feel. I think I'll miss it.

Does this case fold back completely? Do you have any trouble with the HD turning off while you are reading (because of the magnet touching the back)? My slip-in or holster style case did that and it drove me nuts.

I have a couple of those cases, and the magnet does turn off the Glo when folded all the way back. I either stick a finger between the layers, or just take it out of the case if I am going to be reading for awhile.

I also have a couple of these, and they do not turn the device off when folded all the way back. They are thicker and add bulk, however. I'll be trying both on my new Glo HD. ((By the way those colors as depicted are way off - the orange is a very bright vibrant orange, and the pink is a very pale pink)).

Re: Sleepcover

I feel a bit like the village idiot. Folding the flap *under* the cover (when folded back for reading, opposite of what is shown in the stock photos) holds it in place just fine.

It would be nicer if it folded back perfectly flat, but much better than the fail I had first assumed.
