I solved it by reseting to default data. According to Onyx technical service the data base of my device was corrupted. Sadly (and obviously), all information scribble was lost, so next time I'll have to back up everything.

For me it works (especially Neo Reader) better than 2015-12-14_10-06_1.7.4_rc1_f897459 or 2016-05-12_15-50_1.7.5_rc1_8e45da5

Yes, i can. After the upgrade, i also cannot find any of my marks in PDF documents any more. When creating a new one, it seems to work at first, but after a few seconds (sometimes more than 30), the new note or mark just disappears. Switching to another application forces the disappearing immediately. Marking text or adding notes to marked text still works, though.

Additionally, i lost all scribbles in the Onyx Scribbler app. This happened to me at least once before, after another firmware change. It seems that the data still exist in data/data/com.onyx.android.data/databases/onyx.scribble.*.db, but somehow the index has been erased.

On my M96 Plus, i have another problem with 1.7.5rc1: The digitizer software seems to have changed: For good, and for bad:

• Use big pen = yes: Big improvement with the big pen! Switching between writing and erasing by using the eraser tip on the big pen works at last, and in many applications even! The small pen has a problem with this option, though: Precision is bad, the delta between touched and detected point is 2 - 3 mm on my device.
• Use big pen = no: Similar behavior with both pens: Navigating works, even drawing in Onyx Scribbler - but not in non-Onyx drawing apps! In them, the touch is interpreted as "erasing" function, and i can not find a way to influence that (examples are Styluslabs Write and FIINote). Interestingly, precision is quite good with both pens.

All in all, i'm not disappointed with 1.7.5rc1 - i love to see that there is effort going into improving things and into adding missing features. But i'm still pondering whether i will downgrade to 1.7.4 again, as this was working very well for me. I wonder if it would bring me back my marks in PDFs ...

I lost all my scribbles in the PDFs (am getting used to this by now) and I also can't save any more new ones. funny thing is that it sort of disappears when you move to other apps. You can also see it when you turn off (in the middle of doing some scribbles) and then turn back on again; you can literally see the scribbles disappear before your very eyes!

BTW, if I want to consider a reset - is it the "Factory data reset" under the "Privacy" setting?
Am not sure how to use the "Back up my data" checkmark on the same page. Do I just check it? How do I know if the back up has finished?

Hey guys, I figured it out. The fact that every displayed text is turned into black bold (losing color, underline, and regular weight) is not a bug, but a "feature". It is what they announce as "whitening" or "enhanced contrast" effect.

Well, I don't like that feature, but the good news is that you can tweak it by modifying a file in framework-res.apk, namely "res/raw/webview_contrast_enchanced.css". I have completely disabled it, and now apps display text normally.

If there is people interested, I can upload the modified file and a script to replace it. You'll have to root your device, though.

I am not sure about the back up, but the reset is indeed "Factory data reset in privacy settings. All the apps are working properly for me now (including NeoReader and scribble function), but I am exporting everything after I finish reading now. It is a bit cumbersome, but better safe than sorry.

While I am on the subject of scribble issues: does anyone else have a problem with JSTOR's (or other's) files, in which the scribble is properly exported but all the original text gets erased?

As some people have noticed for other devices, I'm also noticing a massive battery drain in standby on the T68 on the 1.7.5 rc1 firmware from 18/5/2016.I used to be able to pick the device up after not using it for a week and the battery had dropped a few percent maximum. Now, it's usually dead and needs recharging after not using it for a few days.

Any solutions and hints would be welcome.

King Root (not to be confused with Kingo) works as well, but you'd have to use the Windows version and plug the M96 into your computer, as the apk doesn't succeed for me.

I'm having the same issue. It seems to me that after 1.7.5 update the device blocks due to lack of battery very early. It's very annoying and the device is almost unusable and I don't know how to go back to a previous update.
Any help is appreciated, thank you.
