I ask because as written, the word: "reader" could refer to either the entire Kindle device, or the standard document reader installed on the Kindle device. An easy distinction to blur together when thinking of a stock Kindle device, where the only prominently noticeable application is the document reader. It does not "change the reader (application)" - it is an additional (document) reader application. Which is what we do in this forum, offer additional applications to run on your Kindle. Install KUAL or the Kindle Menu - the distinction will become immediately clear. ( #7,400 - somebody shoot me, put me out of my misery. ) Last edited by knc1; 04-13-2015 at 08:03 AM.

1) KOreader do it without help?: Maybe, I don't use it and will let a KOreader expert answer this part. 2) Can I meet my objective of "zero extra effort"?: Almost. LibrarianSync will (re-)build the Kindle collections database from the directory structure that it finds on the Kindle. But of course, you will have to invest a few extra clicks on the Kindle to make it happen each time you change the directory structure and/or contents.

Koreader has no notion of something like software-managed collections, but uses and presents the folder structure as the way to organize documents. So @Rickkins: I think it does exactly what you want, by default.

@Rickkins: You can't get a more authoritative answer than one from the author (see above). Ans: Yes. - - - - - KOreader does not replace the Kindle's native reader, so if you want both to be directed by your directory structure, then: For KOreader (not software collections aware) - no action required, it just does it. For Kindle's native reader (which is software collections aware) - run LibrarianSync (from its KUAL menu entry) whenever the directory structure and/or contents under Kindle:/documents changes. Note: The Kindle's native reader lost its ability to handle nested collections when it gained the "Amazon cloud collections" feature. Last edited by knc1; 04-14-2015 at 08:53 AM. |

One of the authors. It's a little team, and others have been way more active recently. I'm a bit in standby mode as I'm preparing for an exam.

I've installed Koreader on Pocketbook 515 mini. It works but I have only option to turn page up and down. Setting and return to menu doesn't work Any suggestions ?? |

@Rickkins: Err, how are you currently starting KOReader? Because that's definitely one of the basic features of the KUAL extension . And if you use KPVBooklet, well, that's completely the opposite of what it was designed for, so I'm not sure what you're asking for . |
