I just noticed that there are a couple of John Wyndham novels at Fictionwise. But I've read them long ago, so I don't really need them. And they're in secure eReader, which is probably my least favourite format. So I'll resist, even though there is a 60% off coupon this weekend.

I'll just add them to my fictionwise wish list.

My solution to finish my addiction was to simply stop going to ebook-selling websites

It's been working great. I've been only buying a handful of books this year, and reading a handful a month (depending on the month)

Hm. I've just discovered that I can cut down on impulse purchases if I require myself to sample before reading. Often, I never get around to reading the sample, hence I never buy the book.

(You'd think I would have thought of this earlier, but I'm still relatively new to kindle.)

However, that only works if you read on the Kindle...

This is true. Which is, of course, yet another reason for the world to convert to kindle-ism! Mwahahah!

No, real addicts don't want to stop so a reason for not buying a Kindle if samples reduce your book additions...

Hoarders, you have a massive problem. Stop buying, start reading what you've bought. This reminds me of those obsessive crazed fools who cannot stop themselves from downloading (almost always) useless iPhone apps, or picking bits and bobs up at secondhand shops & car boot sales.

If you like collecting things, stop reading books, and start collecting them for the sake of it. This is obsessive compulsive at best, and... well, who knows what else!

Read the books, enjoy the content, not the retail experience of buying them. You may not enjoy facing the fact that you have a problem, but it sounds like you certainly do.

You must have too much income if you can just buy stuff without worrying that you have too much. eBooks usually cost £'s, not pence. This is crazy squirrel syndrome.

That's very interesting.

Come to think of it, most of my purchases have been indie, too. The big name ebooks are just too expensive.

^Agreed on the too pricey. Most of the titles on my wishlist are all $9.99 or $9.69. Although I did just fall off the wagon and bought Kurt Vonnegut's The Sirens of Titan for $3.99. I'd say something about some sort of Vonnegut sale at Amazon, but there's already a thread around here on that.

First book I paid more than $0 in a month. Oh well, back to 0.

Overall book purchasing rating: 64.3/100. Not bad. A solid C.

Wow, everyone has been so controlled. Or is the silence guilt?

I just saw a stupid Amazon sale. 100 books under $4. I'm totally going to be off the wagon as I see a Lisa See book on the list already.

Someone help me.
