*Sigh* I am exhausted. The last two months or so I have been dealing with a bad situation at work. I normally do not have problems with anyone, but this girl was just not cut out to be supervising anyone. It went to her head, and she almost made me quit several times. Tonight was her last night. All was fine until the last hour - and then she decided it was time to give me heck. If our grocery manager hadn't talked me down, I'd have walked out.
Then she called back after she left tonight, asking me "do you have issues with me?" Since she won't be back, and since I was still on the clock, I lied through my teeth and told her everything was cool. It wasn't, and it isn't, but hopefully I don't have to deal with it anymore.
I'm the type that falls apart after everything is over with. So I'm sitting here in tears wondering how I could have better dealt with the situation.

Screw her and the horse she rode in on. She's not there any more and you are.

Never mind. Go take a hot shower, have a cup of hot tea, ( or a stiff drink) and go snuggle in your husbands arms.

Tell him I said he'd BETTER be nice to you......

Thanks, DGma. He's been nice all through it. He basically keeps telling me the same as what you said - that she's gone and I'm still there. Chris and I have both been counting down days and hours til she was gone. It's just that the whole situation just blindsided me. I even tried talking to her about it in the beginning and it just made her worse. I guess what upsets me so much is that this NEVER happens to me. I pride myself on being able to get along with anyone, that's what makes me so good at customer service to begin with. But I just couldn't do it with her. Everything I tried backfired.

She came pretty close to getting that, literally... if she hadn't left, I don't know what I might have done. KK, i know you're one of the people here who understands this situation the most.

Yes......there is a time and place for that tho.....first, Shel needs to find a dark street, then she needs to lure her there.......then....

But you know what? There will always be those like her out there........and this is probably not the last time you'll have to deal with it.

However, now you have some experience with the situation, and will be able to deal with it better in the future..........the very distant future, hopefully!

I had the same experience many years ago.. no matter what I did or said, I just couldn't change the way she dealt with me. She left and I stayed. Life and work was so much nicer once I got over it and realized you just can't please or be liked by everyone.

Just keep thinking about how nice it will be at work with her gone now.

Turns out this chick pulled a fast one by calling the store back and engaging Shel personally like that, which is certainly unethical and may legally qualify as harassment. Personally I'm ready to burn the !#@$%&*! store down and stuff some C-4 under the director's truck but I can't extort any more hours out of my current job.

That's what I keep telling myself. Now I'm just worried the replacement will be just like her, or ... heaven forbid...worse.

Shel, it is good that the bad one has left.

If this did occur again with the new one then couldn't you speak to their boss? Are there others that were effected by this person? If it did happen again and others are troubled too then maybe you could all support each other and collectively make a complaint higher up the chain?

I really hope the new one is very nice and values, respects and treats you well.
