...and then out of the fog came a heavy snow !!!!! (that wasn't forecast!) It lasted for 4-5 hours and was nasty for a while, but has now started to become wet and mushy....

I think Scotland must be the wettest country by far, in the world. I once had a friend, who moved from London to Aberdeen and only stayed there for a year: too much rain and fog.

Not in Aberdeen!
We only get 880mm of rain on average per year, whilst on the slopes of the West of Scotland they can get 4000mm....

London at 650mm is not that much wetter than Aberdeen!
