That's good to know. Like I said it's trivial. So long as I can read the book I don't really care about the numbering. Just thought it'd be a nice feature.

From this, the decision to do page numbers within chapters is design choice from Kobo. I suspect it has come about so that they don't have to decrypt the whole book at the start. This way they can decrypt one chapter file at a time, which will be faster to open the book and use less memory. For epubs, they have to be reading and formatting the whole book to be able to do the page numbering. |

I would like to be able to explicitly set up my hidden WiFi connections.
I have two Wifi access points at the extreme ends of my house (one in the basement at one end, one near the top floor at the other end). Now that I set up the first SSID I cannot set up the second because the Touch "sees" the first AP, even when the signal strength is extremely low. There is a setup list of SSIDs I can delete, but no commands to manually create or switch access points. It seems the only way to enter an SSID is when you try to access WiFi and it cannot find an AP that has been already set up. |

Try turning off the wifi your Kobo is already connecting to then you can connect to the other wifi. You might then be able to pick which one you want to connect to.

I switch hands and where I hold the reader quite frequently - tapping anywhere to page forward (swipe to browse back) would save me from constantly having to change tap areas. |

Okay I know this has been mentioned before, sort of, but this is an issue especially now with a recent purchase.
The kobo touch is missing a massive feature that is delectable on the iOS versions. I need to be able to see: Remaining pages in a chapter, if it's formatted in that way. Remaining pages in the specific book I'm reading. I bought the 4-book Game of Thrones set and it's made it miserable to figure out where I am. 15% done? 200 pages left? Previously they were separate ePub files, so to be smacked in the face with this, it ruins the experience. Better integration with the fancier reading life features available. I know it can't have everything, but the ereader has NOTHING =\ Ugh. So frustrating. It makes what should be an entirely simple and enjoyable task far more difficult and irritating, primarily because I see it different everywhere. I like the chapter numbers on ios but then am baffled that I can't switch to see the number of pages remaining in the book... I could go on and on. |

If you wanted to see pages left in book then you can download the ePub version from the Kobo website.

I agree with andsoitgoes. Why not display both, either at the bottom of the page, in the navigation bar, or both or provide some options (I prefer options). Seems simple enough. ![]() |

On the iOS app, it displays the pages left in chapter even on non-Kobo purchased books. It never displays (on iOS) the remaining pages in the book. But now for this book on the touch I don't have the benefit of either. Grr. |

Books downloaded via either Kobo Desktop and its USB connection or via WiFi from the Kobo web site will show a "page x of y" at the bottom of the page.
Note though, that this is ONLY for books in Kobo's own version of ePub (which is often called kEpub) and not for books downloaded via ADE and loaded via either ADE or calibre. |

So if my wife has a different account on her touch, there is no way I can do this.
Or is there any work around? |
