Sheesh. Well, we almost didn't find out that Chris didn't have to work til it was too late, he was going to go in and see if anyone was there, but then he thought to check the website of the radio station that the plant uses for closure notices. Sure enough...

Better tie that hat on, honey... it'll blow right off out there!!!

The news here is all about cyclone Yasi hitting category 5 and about to hit Queensland. A long way from me but I can't get my head around the size of it on the maps. It looks bigger than Mexico.

I have some relatives in Townsville and I am feeling quite anxious about them at the moment! They have experienced plenty of cyclones in their lives but this is a BIG one. Some have moved to higher ground and more cyclone proof places but it is still scary.
This weekend I am playing at a benefit gig to help victims of the Queensland floods, I think we had better start planning an entire season of gigs to raise money to help all these people, it's going to need millions of dollars.

Yes, looking at the weather map it seems as though it will affect an area about 1000 km wide, even the really nasty bit in the centre is about 100 km wide.

It is a fair way away from us! don't worry (about us) i must call my sister in law to see if they are OK! they live near Port Douglas.

It is certainly the biggest cyclone I have seen. Keep an eye out that is doesn't jump the cape into the warm and shallow gulf. then we will see some really bad trouble for my employers.
