Neon Ichiban was created by ex-Comixology people. From what I gather, sometimes they offer DRM-free stuff, but I doubt the DC stuff is.
They also sell NFT-like collectible "special covers". I'll pass.

I took a peek at Fables Vol 1 on the site, and it was not downloadable. I wasn't sufficiently motivated to check the other Vertigo titles I was interested in.

Like you, I'm passing. TBH, it's not a particularly good deal. Besides, didn't Bill Willingham release Fables to public domain?

I think it meant the intellectual property (setting, characters, etc) - the published works had many other people and companies involved.
