The Carina Press site still shows their titles as 10% off. I imagine that won't last.

As for the Harlequin titles, at least they seem to have kept their experimental pricing as the retail price. So for HRS as as example, the print price is $5.50 (still shows as 20% off $4.40), but the digital version is $4.24 and that's what they're listed for at Kobo, Amazon, and Google. So it looks like they've kinda built in a discount to the agency price. I probably still won't buy as many titles but $4.24 is better that $5.50.

Harlequin Intrigue and Harlequin Special Edition are the same ($5.50 cover for print, $4.24 for digital).
Harlequin Blaze has a sightly higher "discount" ($5.50 for print, $3.99 for digital)
Harlequin Superromance has the biggest "discount" ($6.75 for print, $3.99 for digital).
Harlequin Presents is the least I saw ($4.99 for print, $3.99 for digital).

Even the imprints are digitally discounted.
HQN and MIRA ($7.99 for print, $6.39 for digital).

I would rather have them coupon eligible, but a small discount is better than nothing.

I read! Yes that right I actually read a book. The next Cat DeLuca mystery is finally out after two years of waiting! I read Bye, Bye Love by K.J. Larsen (4 stars) I am reading Candy Apple Red by Nancy Bush. All are on Scribd. Speaking of Scribd if you haven't read Duke's Wager on there yet you need to it's being removed on May 09.

I love I now have a place I can lay back and read after a year of not having that. We made our living room the bedroom and the bedroom the livingroom due to the bathroom being in the bedroom and the utility room where the litter box is I would never get any sleep with all the smells and activity. That means our bed is by the kitchen. It's also in the same room as the air conditioner too so it's perfect to just sit back on the bed and read. The lighting is perfect too no glare at all. It's also nice and quiet here. Mostly Seniors live in the complex.

I spent last night at the ER as my sister collapsed during a stress test. She's okay but they are doing a catheterization to make sure. The doctors think it's the anemia we all suffer from. She may need a transfusion if her blood count gets any lower. I didn't sleep well after that so hopefully later I can get some much needed sleep.

Oh I didn't buy any books last week.

First let me say its so nice to read that you finally get to settle a bit with your new place. Sorry about your sister, I hope she recovers fast.

Scribd, I just noticed a lot of books are expiring. I was going to read the second in the Sarina Bowen series, The year we hid away later, but it says it expires in May 3rd. So does the 1st. Great book the 1st. I hope that means they are just rotating stuff through. I need to go through my library and what I saved to see what else is going away.
Duke's Wager is great. Are her other books going away too? I can't read as fast as I need to with all these books lined up.

By the way, did you try the new Scribd update yet? I did, put it on my fire 6 and my Nexus. Margins are still wide, but everything is much better. Faster and the font is darker now and you can change the backround color with a slider so the contrast is much better. Its really noticable on my Nexus. The font always looked a bit dainty on there. There are 6 fonts now, but I pretty much stay with the old one which I think is called Postmodern.

I wish there was a way to filter to show expiring books. I just updated to the new app and now just got to figure out what the original background color was before they changed it up on me. The extra fonts are nice but I am use to the wide margins now and would not want to go back to old version as I read faster this way.

As much as I don't like the large margins, the closer line spacing and the speedyness and smoothness of the new app I think make up for it. Backround color I thought was very light before, on the low end of the beige slider, close to the white. I prefer it a bit darker as it was before, like the kindle app, so this is welcome change or me.

Glad you were able to get used to those margins. I think I might too at some point now.

I too wish they had a expire soon filter. I would browse in there to see what I need to look at before its gone. At least it shows in the library. I just keep adding more books to collections so they are in the library. I have like one catch all called TBR and others with genres. When read they go in read and out of TBR. Makes it easy to just open my TBR collections with all unread to see if something might expire. I already noticed some gone and they now say for purchase only. Oh well, not much I can do about that.
