yay : chrome finally supports extensions : woo hoo for xmarks on chrome !!

arg : now 98% of my ridiculous amount of bookmarks have been duplicated. currently installing firefox bookmark duplicate detector. then i'll have to try to fix things up in firefox, re-synch to server, then re-synch chrome from server, and hopefully things will finally be somewhat tidy in there. god knows how long this is going to take me.

arg2 : since the update, chrome windows don't scroll smoothly when using the mouse wheel. instead the visible portion "jumps" up or down and the display duplicates portions of the page. so you think you're clicking on one thing but in fact you're clicking on something else entirely. this may drive me INSANE. i hope google is working on fixing this even as we speak, because there is no excuse for it, and it's enough to make me stop using chrome altogether.

Keep in mind when you add XMarks to a new browser to do a custom sync the first time telling it to toss all local books marks and then sync to the server.

oh no, that would be far too easy. you see, i *knew* xmarks support was coming to chrome soon (it was already available in the dev channel) so in the meantime i've been happily clicking away, adding bookmarks left (firefox) and right (chrome). so what i *need* is to merge both sets, but ideally without duplicating any (which apparently is just a dream).

i'm making progress, by i should probably just leave it alone for now because while i'm messing about with my eleventy gazillion bookmarks, i'm not getting any work done...
