I've just finished the Tangled Ivy series by Tiffany Snow. Unlike the Kathleen Turner series this one ended perfectly.

This is a fast paced series I'm a little sad to see it end. The last Out of the Shadows was a five star read for me. Ivy and Devon struggles and the journey to overcome all was just how I think Romance stories should be. It was full of crazy sauce that only Ms Snow can do. The series starts in St Louis where the author grew up. I highly recommend if you like spy romances you will love this one. I think historical romance fans would enjoy it too because the hero is British and it in alot of ways it reminded me of the old epic historical from the 80s. There is a couple of cameos from her previous series though very brief.

Now if you like audio books then I highly recommend to listen to the series. Karen Peakes is a new narrator to me and hasn't done alot of titles but I have to say she is the best narrator I've heard. Her voice acting is Gold no Platinum. The range of voices she can do is mind boggling. She's better than Tavia Gilbert, Lorelei King, Angela Dawe and all the others I've heard. The range of emotion she puts into every word is just breathtaking. This is more than an audio book being read it's like a dramatization. How one voice could do so much diversity I just can't fathom how one could accomplish it. I hope she does many more romances.

I've also finally finished Beautifully Damage. (3 stars) Not much to say about it other then with weird word usage and grammar it read like a summary you never feel you get into the characters head. It had alot of potential but I could tell the author had very little creative writing experience. It was like you was getting an abridged version of a book.

Now I've got to figure what I'm going to read next.

One of Kobo's deals of the day is The Liar by Nora Roberts for $1.99. Not her best, but not bad. It's still $7.99 at Amazon.

I had planned to binge watch the final season of Downton Abbey, but it will have to keep as my TV quit working this week. It was over 20 years old, so it's time for a new one.

20 years old!

Get you a nice LED HDTV. The quality is amazing. You can see the patterns textures it's so real. Every flaw on their face. I could never go back. Hubby has a Insignia from Best Buy and it's breathtaking. My old HDTV Sony Bravia is no where near as clear. Stay away from Vizio.

Not sure they even make non-HGTVs anymore

. I just want a TV, I don't need a smart TV or a 4G or whatever the latest and greatest thing is.

I've not read up on the various brands yet, so I will note that Insignia is good. Out of curiousity, what's wrong with Vizio?

I'm tending 6 Vizios. Three at my house, two at my parent's house and one at my in law's house. Also have a Vizio sound bar. They are all great, love them. I think my sister has two Vizios too. She has had no issues either.

My brother owns three of them and I'd say the picture quality is not as good and they seem kind of crappy and slow.. I also noticed that his threw off alot of heat for some reason.

Sound is another thing most HDTVs have crappy sound but my husband Insignia doesn't. It sounds really nice. I was surprised. Samsung is the popular brand but not cheap.

My Vizio is awesome and they had great customer service also. Its a 4K TV. Great pic, especially for the price we paid for it over a year ago. It replaced a 10 year old that started to smoke one day.

I'd suggest going to a store that has many versions on display and choosing the one that appeals most to you at your price. Hard to test sound that way, I'll admit. But when I was looking for my first one, having a group of them side by side made it easy for me to choose the one that seemed to have the best color and least pixelization for the size/price I was looking at.

I tried to go by Wal-Mart tonight (as Target closes early on Sundays and Best Buy is only in the next town over from me). Sadly, they were rearranging TVs so more than half of them were turned off. The only ones that were on were the 55" ones and that is much too big for my bedroom.

I will try to get over to Best Buy later in the week.

Agreed that's how Hubby got his. Mom and sis picked the best picture and clarity for the price.

Started reading a new book. Wrong Number, Right Guy by Elle Casey. It's on KU. Very funny heroine kinda like Legally Blonde. It's written in first person so you hear how nutty her thoughts is. Not a serious Romance. I'd compare it to Christie Craig but in first person. It's just what I need after Tiffany Snow's serious stories.

With the changes HQN has made to using coupon codes, can you apply a $1 off code to a $9.99 title and than add a free eBook code? Or do those no longer work?

Haven't tried this, but I don't think it would work as you have to "buy" books separately with the coupon codes. If you have two books in your cart and apply a free code then try to apply a second free code the cart replaces the first free code with the second free code rather than applying it to the other book. The reward codes don't play well together.

That said I've never gotten a $1 code via the rewards program, so can't say for certain.
