That's the other thing I forgot about, having to rename files. I think my movies are naturally named the way Plex demands, but my series weren't, and there was no way I was going to rename those from the system I prefer.

fjt, here is the complete box set of The Champions. It's Region 2, but as I have recommended elsewhere, a region-free DVD player is the way to go. I got mine from Bombay Electronics in Chicago.

Last I looked it was over US$100.
Which is more than I paid for the full run of BUFFY.

Region 2 is no issue; I can make regionless copies and ISO those.

They also had Randall and Hopkirk.
Double the fun coming up.

I bought a fire stick during Amazon's sale, but purely to use with TV-Addons customizations of Kodi. I prefer my Roku for conventional paid-service streaming and the Fire Stick for less mainstream content. I'm about to close on a co-op in which fios is the new standard, so perhaps I'll be more interested in the Stick's intended use once I move in. Until then, it will remain a fun conduit for a media free-for-peep.

As with vintage Sony e-Readers, so with Kodi: So nice to see your own perversely beautiful images on the desktop instead of the ones your content provider deems sufficiently popular, proprietary or pretty.

No.
Kodi does music and photos.
It has plugin apps for online streaming (Hulu, youtube, netflix, album covers, movie posters and trailers, local and global weather, and other stuff. It is a platform unto itself.

Looks as though one could use Firestarter as a complement to other flavors of Kodi that aren't represented in Amazon's appstore and won't show up on the Fire Stick's home screen.

Including launchers.

Well, it looks like you'll be able to buy pbooks (and other products) via Fire TV and Fire TV stick. If you have the voice remote, you'll be able to do so via voice commands:

The "feature" is part of the firmware update being deployed now but apparently won't be activated until Prime Day, July 15.

Can't say it's a surprise.

There is a new FIRE TV device incoming, according to leaked benchmark testing.
It looks like it might be a Fire TV Stick 2 but it might be something else.
The Benchmark refers to a 6.9" screen without touch.

It looks to be aimed more at gaming, so maybe it's going after Nintendo:

Whatever it is, it runs Android 5.1.

If it is a FireTV Stick 2 it implies an even more powerful STB2.
