Look at the dictionaries in the attachment. Alas, there will be a mistake (we have already discussed this)
Code:
Error: decompile dictzip "dicthtml-ru-es.zip": process dicthtml "11.html"

Thank you bro!

It should be, but if not, use this patch for now: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...3&postcount=41

Greetings!

I noticed a thing. Before firmware 4.20.x, whenever I synced my books with Kobo Desktop I needed to re-apply the three dictionaries that I use, downloaded in this thread (thanks a bunch to anyone who made this possible!).
Now I read that if you set the dictionary file read only (with fw 4.20.x), it should remain where is after you synced. I tried and it works.
But there's a difference (and is better): before the dictionaries I used were a bit of a mess. They displayed poor formatted, every word and punctuation attached, with no space and order. Now it's all clean and easy to read! I would like to ask if somebody knows, why?
I'd like to understand, so I'd be able to continue using the dictionaries in this state that I like very much.

Kobo Clara HD, english, english - italian, italian dictionaries taken from the first post, or in this thread.

Thanks in advance

I didn't really understand your description of "better". However, are you using any of the dictionary patches in the kobopatch system? If so, I did make a fairly recent change to one of them Dictionary text font-family/font-size/line-height which could possibly have resulted in a visual improvement for some sideloaded custom dictionaries.

No, I never used Kobopatch but I'll try to explain what I mean for better (English is not my mother tongue).
Before, when I searched for a definition, the results were not organized in point list. There were no text in bold or italic as differentiation. All definitions for a word were continuous, one after another, on the same line, only separated by brackets with n1,n2,n3 in between - (n1),(n2),(n3).
Now there's a point list for definitions, there's bold and italic text, space and organized definitions.
I tried to open the dictionary file, I looked at any definition and I saw that on my PC they are displayed as now I see them (with point list, bold/italic, space).
Maybe everytime I applied in wrong manner the dictionaries..

No, I don't think anything I did would make that kind of visual improvement. Let's pretend I never spoke

Thanks, cause it's not working for me on stock (4.20.14622), every time I sync the custom dicts still get replaced.

Cheers.

Edit: Just found this... https://pgaskin.net/dictutil/dicthtml/install.html Some info about the read only flags.

Edit2: Ooops, you're the author of that page, right? : )

Edit3: I've been using the replacement method + read-only flag. But some time ago it stopped working... I just tried replacing + editing SQLite by setting "issynced" flag to false, but Kobo still replaces my custom translation dicts... Any idea?

Perhaps you can share with us a screenshot or picture for illustration...

Ok, I'll upload 3 sceenshot taken with my phone.
The first shows how the dictionaries were, the en-it still looks how it was before the change.
The second, instead, shows the english dictionary with text on the same line, but with black squares separating descriptions, and no (n1),(n2),(n3).
The third shows the italian one, with numbered list, and no (n1),(n2),(n3).

I checked the dictionaries on my PC and they show up as in my ereader now, maybe they are made like this, but before everyone was like the first screenshot.

Is there a good Spanish custom dictionary? The original one that comes with the Kobo is not very good.

Looking for the English-Romanian dictionary

Hello,

The link for the English-Romanian is not viable anymore.
Can someone help me with a reupload?
I would apreciate it very much. Thank you!

3 variants of the English-Romanian dictionary
Choose.

And write which one is optimal.

Which link doesn’t work?
