Borrow? Are you saying that if you check out a book from the Kindle Lending Library, then you can purchase the corresponding audiobook at a reduced price?!?

I've borrowed Kindle books from my local library and then purchased the reduced audiobook. It seems to be a wonderful loophole that no one has noticed yet.

Don't know about the Kindle library (not a Prime member), but it does work for public libraries.

Interesting. I've not borrowed any Kindle books via Overdrive (most of the ones I've looked at are USB only, not via Amazon) although I did a few of the MobiPocket titles several years ago. I will have to test this. I've borrowed a few titles via the Prime Lending Library, but haven't looked at WhisperSync for Voice on them. I've been a Prime member for several years, but I've only had a Kindle device for a couple of months.

Tubemonkey thanks for the walking me through using my $5 coupon, it worked! It looked like I was going to be charge on my cc at first, but it used the coupon.

Can I purchase from the Daily Deal with my no subscription audible account too? I wouldn't want a surprise when I checkout and find a huge charge instead of the deal.

The Whispersync trick works with Overdrive library books, but does not seem to work with the Prime Lending Library at all.

If you want to have access to the Whispersync versions of Overdrive library books, you need to leave the listing in your MYK library until you purchase the audiobook. If you delete that it will be like you never checked it out.

The annoying thing is, though, that there's no indication if the audiobook price is temporary. I bought one of the Kindle deals the other day because the audiobook version was only $4.99. Turned out that the $4.99 price was temporary; when I went to buy the audiobook the next day with my $5 coupon, my discounted price had shot up to $12.99--no longer much of a bargain.

You should be able to, just make sure the sale price is showing before you complete the transaction. There are two columns in your cart, "price" and "you pay". The "you pay" column should show the sale price and the subtotal in bold should also reflect the sale price.

I've seen this happen quite often, just as the Kindle prices move up and down...

If it's a price you want, you are best off grabbing it then and not waiting.

It works with Kindle Lending too. If you borrow a book from someone that is Lendable you can get the audible at a discount price. I've done this several times.
