I make lots of notes and would like to export them. Calibre will capture the text, but it just adds it to the book metadata, a better export tool would be useful.

So what you mean is that you haven't created a Short List?

When you are in the Library view you can see a little heart shape to the left of your books, when you press the heart it will turn black and that means it has been added to your Short List.

I use the Short List function for my TBR list.

A solution to what? Instead of seeing a bunch of hearts, I see a bunch of covers that are already displayed? The "short list/advertising" is useless for me. I can see how other people may want it, but I/others don't.

Well sometimes they will display the same books, they could be books that you aren't reading yet (To Be Read).

Check out the plug-ins thread, with the plug-ins you can remove the bottom bar, and use the shelves function that hasn't been released yet.

I know this is a long shot because Kobo already has an actively developed social network but I think it would be really awesome if GoodReads could be integrated. The functionality of GR is far superior to anything Kobo has right now and I find myself using it even hough I have to make the trouble to access it independently.

I just realised that they do have an API for this after googling. I was updating my start/finish dates and ratings, and I realised that it would be really convenient to do this on the reader itself.

I would like:

- integrated instapaper in the device itself or available through the desktop app
- easy folder creation and organisation
- an 'Articles' folder that i could place DRM-less, epub, pdf, txt or RTF's into (i'm in NZ so 'News & Mags' aren't available to me)
- be able to change the 'Home' screen to just a text list rather than book covers
- don't really want to have to use ADM or Calibre to do any of these things
- I DO NOT want email on my kobo touch

Not really a high priority but I would love:

- to sync my simplenote notes to the device or iA Writer text articles (may be API and/or commercial reasons why this couldn't happen though)

That's about it... I love my KT!

EDIT: ...and I would love goodreads integration

That's what that function is for! Have you even tried the shortlist option? I actually like the bar on the bottom, having it display shortlist is awesome.
