I also got my new Cybook ORIZON a few days ago.
The device is recognized by my Adobe Digital Edition - SW running on my mac. -> but device can`t be activated with Adobe Digital Editions. Orizon ist detected and displayed in ADE as "Cybook Orizon" - Aktivation process seems to work - but after I disconnect the Orizon: in the messagebox Settings>About>Adobe ID: Not Activated !!! DRM-ebubs can`t be displayed. The suggested way as described in manual chapter 12. via the Bookstore Link also fails: "Connection timed out" error message -NO wifi connection to internet at all (google etc. ) I sent about 5 emails to support@bookeen.com and to contact@bookeen.com and also filled in the support-form twice - BUT got NO response at all. So ... the device is nice ... but without any (of my) content - not usable in this state. Bookeen support is anoying .... |

Thanks for the day off advice. I sent my first email thursday last week :-/
I dont want to de-DRM my ebooks. Ist illegal ... and works fine wieth all my other devices. I am running ADE on my Macbook - YES ther is aversion for Mac OSX ( SW=Software) There is a note in the User manual: Note: Once your account has been created and your device activated, the creation page won't appear again. In order to authenticate your device with another account, please contact Bookeen customer service. But HOW ?? ;-\ |

EBreader: Sounds like you should check your wifi AP, have you tried another wifi? That worked out of the box for me, the browser is simplistic but better than I expected. I haven't tried the ADE stuff yet though, for the reasons stated earlier (I have no proprietary OS available).

It is true that SiPix has a somewhat darker screen than Vizplex or Perl, but I think the darkness of the Text is probably a bigger issue. The only review I have seen so far indicates that the text on the Orizen is plenty dark, so the reader should be pretty easy to read.
I only wish the Pandigital reader had text as dark as the Orizen; that would give you most of the features for a fair bit less money ![]() -- Bill |

jwalk: you posted - wifi worked aut of the box. What are your settings. I work on "personal WPA2" security-level. Maybe that is not supported by Boo Reader.

Sorry guys ... but yesterday Bookeen Support Team was answering an EMAIL which I sent to "support@bookeen.com" one week ago. Till now I got NO answer to any of my requests using the Bookeen-support-form on their website. !??!

Solution for ORIZON - ADE authentication error
I want to inform the community about the very helpful support of the Bookeen Team!
I got an email-reply - after one day only. Solution for my ADE authentication-problem: We invite you to connect the device to your computer and then delete the « .adobe-digital-editions » folder. You can then begin again the procedure to activate the device with ADE and it should be working. “.adobe-digital-editions” is a hidden folder. If you cannot see it, please follow these steps: - Click on "tools" - Select "folders options" - Click on "display" - Find "hidden files and folders" and select the option that allows these folders to be seen. - All the folders will then appear Thanks again to Bookeen Support Team. |
