I considered Nate.

1) Suspicious behavior: he changed his penguin avatar right around the time someone said a penguin was seen heading toward the scene of the crime.

2) The words someone printed on the broken Nook may have been a tip-off from a dying man (man-killing rare white whale/pshring killing rare white penguin). The comment could have had a double meaning. After all, wasn't Rock Lobster MobileRead's own private dick?

3) A seen in an early review, Nate, who was infuriated by devices that didn't work as advertised, didn't care for Nooks (“The only reason to get the Nook is if you are planning to hack it and install new apps”). If he caught pshrynk playing with one, it may have incited him to murder. There was some question as to whether pshrynk owned one.

4) That cryptic comment: “I understand that pshrynk took one on the head. Nasty business. But then, he didn't know that much about electronics.”
