i found it in faq on their site

question : Some merchants require a credit card with a US billing address. I don’t have one, what can I do?

answer : Use our Personal Shopper services. Send us the information on what to buy and where. We will buy it for you and charge your credit card for the cost of the item plus a nominal service fee.

But they want $35 one time setup fee. $15 a month or $130 a year and $10 for their personal shopper service.

So $60 minimum not including P&P and import duty. Add to that they want photo ID and all sorts of forms filled in so you can't start getting stuff straight away.

If you do a ton of shopping in the states it's probably worth it but for a one time deal it's kinda expensive.

You'd be better off finding someone to buy and send you one.

I would be willing to buy some Sony Ebook readers and ship it overseas as long as you cover the cost. Nearby SonyStyle store has 4-5 in stock, so if anybody is interested, let me know (otherwise they are gonna be gone soon, I might get a few and post it on Ebay). I am Ebay 100% positive (check my feedback under vaio-freak as my username) and can accept PayPal. I have helped a lot of buyers in Europe before by ordering Sony parts for them, so it is not new for me. Feel free to email me at stanmed2001 at yahoo dot com

I have reserved 4 Sony Ebook readers. I am going to pick them up today as well. It is a little bit of a longer drive than I thought (about 4 hours). I will try to respond to those who email me when I catch a WiFi connection on my way, so bare with me. I have currently 2 people interested in getting the reader.
I will update the thread if I no longer have them for sale. Thanks!

I have one left too - the original sale didn't happen as the non-USPS shipping cost was too high for the buyer to stomach, and he didn't want to uses USPS to India.

As an error i created a thread abut this theme...
Here is what i posted.

"Hi this is my second post, but as i've made the first a minute ago this can be the first post of mine you read, so hello to everybody...

I'm spanish, and i don't know anybody in the States that i can trust with the money to buy it and send it to me, so what could i do to buy the Reader outside the US?

I haven't really made a decission yet, but in case i decide to buy the reader i would like to know how to do it, becasue Sony Spain says that there are no plans to sell it here because the spanish ebook industry is "weak"...

But after reading it i still don't know where to buy it. It seems there is no page, and i won't order to a person i don't know (no offense intended, i've had several problems and i'm not willing to do it anymore...)"

Hi Zonk/PJ, at the moment there is no way to purchase these units outside of the US, partly because Sony, I believe, does not have rights to sell their book titles ouside of the US. The only options I can think of are having someone purchase one for you (which is what I did) or buying one off eBay.

eBay may be best for you, because there is some purchase protection there, however mild.

Well, as i intend to purchase next month i think i will wait a little to see if there appears other way of buying it (mainly to see if some friend goes to the States) If not eBay will be...
