Is anyone willing to post pictures of the device displaying pictures in .jpg format.

Thanks for that deadite66. I actually meant a b&w jpeg like a page of a comic or manga but that has given me a pretty good idea of the quality of the screen when displaying images.

This is the instruction manual of my digicam. Nice way to keep this with me.
This is a con: the pdf viewer shows the pdf watermark COPY [which ist set as "visible for printing only"], in Adobe Reader it's not visible. ![]() Edit: I set compatibility of pd file to 1.4 & the watermark is completely gone. Uhh! Last edited by yokos; 08-21-2006 at 10:04 AM. |

I am sure there're a lot new iLiad owners out there. Please go ahead and post pictures of your new gadget here.

Hey, watch out for those geese!
Hmm, seriously, this is the coolest (no pun intended) pic of iLiad. |

Close enough. FL380 just means Flight Level 380 which is 38,000 feet above sea level - approximately. Flight Levels are predicated on an altimeter setting of 29.92 inches or 1013.2 mb. This is set at a specific alititude that is predicated on adjusted Mean Sea Level. All aircraft flying above this altitude will have their altimeters set to the same value (29.92 or 1013.2). This gives a standard reference point for aircraft to fly specific altitudes to maintain vertical seperation. There are some more fine points to all the altimetry of it, but it is roughly about that high above sea level give or take a as much as a couple 1000 feet or so depending on extremes in meteorological conditions.
The .84M is the percentage of the speed of sound in Mach. The -47C is -47 degrees Celsius. At that altitude "standard temperature" or what we refer to as "ISA" is approximately -57C so the deviation is +10, much warmer than standard. Last edited by firekat; 08-16-2006 at 06:01 PM. |

Hey people, what about a "iLiads around the world" page where everyone can post his iLiad photo on his travels (sth. like iLiad before Eiffel Tower posing :-D). I think there is such a site for the iPod and it would be funny to adapt. :-D Will make a pic of my iLiad and Heidelberg Castle tomorrow, today its pretty rainy here :-/

R2D2,
That page is just straight out of one of the company manual pdf's. It's formatted at 8.5" X 11". The manuals are just too big page wise to do any modifications on, and I have yet to have the time nor expertise to do so. I have done some experimentation with them but quite frankly Adobe Acrobat is a bit of an enigma to me. The text on that Cruise page is a bit small and represents the extreme for that manual. I just needed something that would be considered applicable to the pix. Print on most of the manual pages are small but not unusable and can be comfortably read. The aircraft is a 747-200 ("747 Classic") |

Order # 1005:
Mine arrived this morning. I was surprised because I was not expecting it for another 5 days and had received no email from UPS. The first thing I did was to re-charge the battery. After about 30 mins I didn't notice any change in the battery symbol - it still looked empty. But when I changed to another page the symbol appeared full. I nervously played around with it for a few hours. I experimented by loading various PDF's I had created onto a compact flash card to see what size font suited me best. I decided Verdana at size 14pt gave me the most comfortable reading experience for my eyesight. The screen is a most beautiful thing - I absolutely love it. The device came with version 2.4 on it and I knew I would have to connect it via iDS and update to the latest version. But I was very hesitant about this (I am a coward) and decided instead to go shopping to see if I could find myself a case for it. I couldn't find a suitable case so I came back home and cut up an old leather handbag and stitched a very basic envelope shape for it on my sewing machine. It aint bad even if I say so myself. Not feeling able to put off updating the software any longer I read the instructions several times but still felt unsure about it. I have a Belkin wireless router but after reading dire warnings about connecting wirelessly in this forum I nervously connected a cat5 cable to my router and to the iLiad. Pressed the connect button for 2 seconds and lo and behold the new software downloaded to 100% very quickly. Once finished downloading the iLian switched itself off. I turned it back on and the new software then installed itself (very slowly I must add) and now I have version 2.6 on the device. I don't want to jinx myself but all in all I am a very happy bunny. |
