Each Book has links back to the Chapter and also to the Table of Contents. My 505 could not link back from the Book to the Chapter directly. One had to move the cursor very SLOWLY. Here just tapping on the Chapter number takes one there directly.
Sirmaru, Do you have the NIV Bible on your Sony? You mentioned it's an epub. When you've got the NIV open, is it possible to do a search for a book and chapter to get there easier? For example, if you searched for John 1, would it take you to the first chapter of John? The reason I ask is because I am going to be buying an Astak Pocket Pro in the next month or so, and I'm searching for an NIV Bible to go along with it. I've heard it's not very easy to navigate, but I was wondering if doing a search for a particular chapter would make it quicker to navigate, like in a church setting. I'm hoping I can find something that's quick enough that makes it worth while to use in church, in place of my paper Bible. Thanks!

For quick chapter and verse locations buy the Franklin BIB 475 for only $ 75 at Amazon. I use that in Church every week.

The PRS 900 Zondervan NIV Bible is good for straight reading. To get to verses, one must go to the Table of Contents and then drill down to the Book, Chapter and Verse. The Franklin is better for rapid changes in verses.

If a Bible Study sticks to one Chapter, then the PRS 900 is better since it can remain open to that Chapter with little loss of battery power. The Franklin loses battery power fast and cannot stay open for long.

Totally subjective, OP may have different preferences.
To me, Sony 900 is somewhere between Sony 600 and Sony 505. Better contrast and over all readability then Sony 600, but not quite Sony 505 yet (close enough though to be a positive surprise).

from what i'm seeing so far....the 900 screen is darn close to the 505...just needs a bit more light for reading.

Screen on 900 and 505

I now own a 900 and a 505. The 900 has far more detailed and larger fonts. The 505 has a whiter background. All in all the 900 is far better for reading plus it has so many functions which the 505 does not have.

There is no doubt that the 900 is way ahead of the 505.

However, the 505 is smaller and for some purposes may be better due to its smaller size.

24 hours in with the 900...WOW....what glare, maybe i'm numb to that stuff but i'm not seeing it. Some reflection at certain angles but hey it's a shiny screen what do you expect, i couldn't shave in it as the image is blurred but it's not overwhelming at all.

Haven't figured it all out yet but like what i see so far, very very very sexy device and flat blows away the Kindle whatever in regards to look if not the entire range of devices.

Now where did they put that browser.....and what exactly do i use the Case Logic for, bit big for everyday viewing and not sure where to clip the light when i end up getting one. I'm guessing it's primarily for travel to decrease the chance of damage while dropping.

I only use my Case Logic Hard Case and threw out my soft cover. With the hard case one turns on the PRS 900 at home and uses it only in Landscape Mode. Then, while away from home, just open the cover and read it in the case. If you drop it, it is totally protecteed from damage.

Leave it on all day and it barely uses any current unless you are turning pages. All control keys are useable in the case other than the on/off key. Even there one can shut it down using other control keys but cannot turn it on. At night use Shut Down Mode to conserve power for the batteries.

It fits perfectly in my wife's pocket book or in any briefcase with other papers. The fonts are crisp and very viewable even in low light areas. Of course in total darkness one needs a desk light.

I do most of my reading on the PC but supplement it with the PRS 900 when away from home.

I'm so jealous! I ordered on December 30th via Best Buy and my order status still say "processing"! The PRS-900 has been the only reader that has tempted me to upgrade my PRS-505. Since I have a Kindle 2 also, I'm waiting for mine PRS-900 to see if I can bare to part with my PRS-505 (I've had it since Dec 2007 and it's still my main reader).

I would add BooksOnBoard.com to your search list. They sell ebooks in many formats and are sometimes cheaper than Amazon, BN, and Sony.

I'd certainly trade my hard case for one. :P

I did throw it out because the studs were defective and fell off when I tried to slide the cover down for removal.

Sony did mail me a replacement cover at no cost which I just received. The studs on this new cover are different and very stable.

I'll probably use the new soft cover for use around my house. However, when away from the house, I'll still use the Case Logic Hard Cover since it provides a lot more protection. The only downside of the Hard Cover is one must leave it on all the time since the on/off key is inaccessible with it on. However, current barely drains unless one turns pages.

Urg, I'm so mad! FedEx was supposed to have my 900 shipped to me today. This is supposed to be my Xmas gift and I've been waiting far too long to get it (I know, join the club right!). Called FedEx and they don't know where the package is since the last scan date is Jan 15 in Chicago. They are putting a trace on it and are supposed to call me back with an update. Somehow, from what I've read, I feel like no one wil actually call me back. Just needed to vent....
