Best Reading Attire? My vote: Snuggie - Page 5

Are snuggies really that comfortable? I don't know, I can just see myself getting all tangled up and trying to get off the couch and falling, spilling my hot tea and dropping my Reader... tripping even more so as I freak out that hot tea and my Reader got so close to colliding. Nope, I'll just stick to my warm fuzzy robe and slippers, or my oversized hoodie and shorts.

I've given up with slippers - I got fed up with them trying to kill me on the stairs...

I don't like slippers. I prefer foot coverings that encompass the entire foot. I'm wearing camp slippers right now, but I desperately need new ones, these are falling apart!

And it's not my slippers, it's the cats.

Just had a great laugh reading this entire thread from the start. Love the snuggie but don't have one. I have a doona suit, a top and bottom made from doona padding stuff that makes you feel super fat and super warm. It's a little cumbersome (understatement), so I just bought an electric throw blanket. It's a microfibre throw rug with electric blanket stuff inside that you can plug in and turn on. I take it everywhere and it's great for reading, with 10 settings!

Yeah, yeah, microfibers, 10 settings - whatever. Does it have sleeves? No? Then it is still inferior to the Snuggie, despite being warmer and softer.

The blanket can stay all the way up to my chin while I read, drink coffee or use the computer. With a normal blanket you either have to wrap it awkwardly around your shoulders, leaving a huge draft, or you have to leave your entire arm, chest and neck area uncovered.

Why would I sit in a blanket while sitting? I have a bathrobe for that or I'll get dressed.

I often read, drink coffee, use the remote control, etc. while lying down or reclining.

A nice bathrobe will do the trick... No need to wear something that should be worn like a straight jacket... And I hardly ever use the remote control while in bed. I prefer reading... And if I have something to drink in bed, I don't sit with the cup in my hands the whole time.

I wear my Snuggie on the couch for the most part, not the bed. Nice bathrobes leave your feet, chest and neck uncovered, and they don't feel like a blanky. Reading requires the use of your hands.
