I have found another way that the lack of an ebook could result in less profits for the publisher, waterstones are doing a special edition of the new terry pratchett book and I might have bought that if the ebook version was also going to be available in the uk and as a result I will end up buying the standard hardback version instead.

Now I could buy the ebook version from an american shop, but I refuse to encourage his american publishers because the covers on those versions are shockingly terrible compared with the excellence of the uk versions.
