Wyclef, I just checked and they still have m-edge covers at Amazon for the 505 for 14.99. I understand it fits the 600, except postings here indicate that the lower right strap impedes on the volume control resulting in power drainage. Just a little cutting allows the cover to accomadate the volume button however.

just a question, how different is the PRS 600's glare issue compared to the "glare" you get when reading a book printed on glossy paper?

I've played around with the device at Waterstone's today. The PDFs are displayed correctly, but my main issue with the Reader is its speed. The PDF is just about readable in landscape mode, so you'll have to zoom in quite often. In zoom mode, there's no way to jump to the next page (i.e., it'll show the unzoomed page). Furthermore, if you switch to annotation mode, it takes several seconds before you can annotate anything.. overall, the device felt very slow when I was handling it. Too bad, I'd have loved to own one, but in my opinion, it's just not there yet.

Hello. I have owned a PRS-505 for 2 years now and have no complaints. I want to upgrade to a PRS-600 so my husband is getting me one for Christmas. My question is: how easy is it to transfer my books from the 505 to 600? Or are they even transferrable?

The books are transferrable from one device to another.

If you use the Sony software, connect the 600 to your computer and when opening the Sony software it should recognize the 600 and ask you to authorize it to your account. Once it is authorized it will be a matter of copying your library to the 600.

If you use Calibre to manage your ebooks, then do the same as above except you don't need to authorize the 600.

I'm having trouble with exporting changes I've made to pdf documents.

I'll load them up on my prs-600 and make highlight notes. I can view the highlights on the Sony Reader software but can't export them. When I use Calibre, I can export the file but the changes aren't there.

Can anyone help?

Clippings

FormerRoadie - great review and great responses. One question if I can. So, have you found anyway to clip large pieces of text from a book, or perhaps a document that you have created and transfer it to a PC, say for editing in Word.

Many thanks,

Hal.
