Dear JS:

This past two days is the first time that anyone I can remember has even brought up the Page Number. So... I would not exactly say that the page number "plagues the EZ Reader". I think that is really going overboard.

Remember... it was caused by ADE being added to the EZ Reader... which is a damned good thing and a major benefit.

Neither the EZ Reader or Pocket PRO were designed knowing they would have ADE on them. We only were fully approved three weeks ago.

Look, JS, you have a sharp mind and I wish you would realize that people do not know what something will do until they load it on and try it. MUCH to the factory's credit... they did not get the Adobe approval and spend 6 months custom-tailoring it. They got it out immediately and everyone has been very happy with that. The word is that it worked great.

I have brought up the page number issue to the factory in my emails today. I certainly hope they will find an easy and expedient solution that can be made quickly.

People want the Pocket PRO and I think that it is good that they now will have it. The Page Number does not "plague" the EZ Reader. Dale dePriest mentioned it today to me briefly and you brought it up. Nobody else seems to have really cared. Please give the factory a chance!

I have read a number of library books (Adobe ADE) on my EZ-Reader and I never noticed the page number. In fact the page number is not visible on the bottom while reading. If you press the OK button it will display with the menu.

Like I said, I never looked for it and it never was nor is an issue...

It's not the number on the bottom of the page - and does not apply to ADE PDFs - but the number that appears on the right side of the page on ePubs to show where that page begins.

I don't think so - the Sony 300 is in stores now and can be purchased while the Pocket Pro is still several days to a week out.

UNLESS the next edition of their reader includes a time machine. Then they may have a shot.

Sorry, but no.

DrMoze went to a SonyStyle store and has already bought and reviewed a PRS-300. RobertB has stated that Astak will be shipping on 8/31/09. The Sony PRS-300 was in the hands of customers first.
