I've eaten snake, which I guess is pretty boring. Some folks might consider roo to be "weird", though it's standard supermarket fare here. I've had emu too. Sea cucumber is not that weird either. Jellyfish? (Eaten at the same place - a wedding banquet). I don't think I've eaten any insects, or, at least, not intentionally.

Pringles are pretty weird. I've eaten them twice - first time I nearly technicolour yawned, and the second time I yawned out of every orrifice for about 12 hours (though, to be fair, the second time was caused by Bali Belly rather than the Pringles).

I used to eat Minties wrappers...no, wait, I still do, as my fave restaurant gives them out as the "after dinner mint". I ate my fingernails (shh, just quietly, sometimes toe too...don't tell anyone) until the 25th May 2007. I tend to chew an eyelash if it falls out and I find it on my face under my eye. Look, basically, I'm a disgusting self-cannibal.

I ate pumpkin pie when I visited the States in 2000 - that was definitely weird. Why would someone make a sweet out of something that should be sitting empathetically next to a leg of roast lamb? Strange people, you North Americans.

(though I forgive you your culinary trespass, for Reese's Pieces and Peanut Butter M&Ms, and, well, basically for peanut butter).

When I was four year's old I got the family goldfish and held it in my hand, then in my mouth for a while, then I noticed it was dead, so I hid in the laundry under the laundry tub, my crime only discovered when I was eventually found there, still holding the goldfish (by then) in my hand, thus marking a life of crime forever as a career choice unsuitable for myself (well, at least the dangerous, dark underbelly of the criminal world of goldfish-stealing anyway).

I think I'll stop now.

I had a friend who used to try to freak me out by ordering obscure dishes in Chinese restaurants. I've tried chicken feet, beef heart, tongue, stomach, brains, (before I learned about mad cow disease), among others. The only dish I didn't like was lung.

The best dish, by far, I've tasted was moose steak in gravy.

Aka Bowel Blockers due to their constipation causing qualities.

One of the British Army ration pack staples.

Not to be confused with Biscuits Fruit, which when combined with a nice big mug of tea make for a very happy squaddy (apparently).

grrrroan.... back in the OLDE days of c-rats, if you couldn't heat your can up and it was a meat item, there would be big gobs of fat sitting in it. I would go *ewe*, pick the bits of fat out and fling 'em. but boy after 3 days, you were craving the fat. for several reasons!

Black Bear steaks. My sister's husband --- who is an avid outdoorsman --- shot a bear in the deep dark Maine woods, and just had to treat us all to his "special secret recipe."

The steaks were lovingly cooked with a thick apricot glaze, seasoned well, and served with English peas and small potatoes. A delightful chianti wine completed the repast.

To me, who can eat anything this side of a Rocky Mountain oyster, the bear steaks tasted and smelled like a cross between a sweaty armpit and the innertube of an old rotted tire....

Heroically, I ate six bites so as not to offend my gracious hosts, but then gave up the ghost... (vomit).

Surprisingly, my little brother loved them, and took a whole bunch of bear meat home to make into breakfast sausages!

Discussing this with friends, it was mentioned that to eat anything that is itself a meat eater is a tough thing to do --- the taste is generally repulsive to us hypocrite humans...

I've actually eaten quite a bit of bear and it REALLY depends on what time of year you are getting your bear. you damn sure don't want a salmon bear, but a berry bear is very good!
