I'd be lying if I hadn't made a version of this speech before, I think I was probably eight years old and staring into the bathroom mirror. And this (holding up the Bilbothy) would've been a shampoo bottle.

Well, it's not a shampoo bottle now!

I feel very fortunate to have made it all the way from there to here.

And I'd like to thank some of the people along the way who had faith in me, my friends and my family, especially my mum and dad, who are in this room somewhere.

"Dad, pm me or something, 'cause then I'll know where you are. (He pm's.) Yeah! (pm's him back) "I love you".

I'd also like to thank Marc, Lady Blue and Patricia.

I'm very lucky to have been given this opportunity by Alex and Zelda and the other mods and working with you is an experience I will never forget.

There is no division between the mods and the people on this board, and that's what makes it so special.

So, to have been surrounded by a remarkable group of people who provided an unbroken chain of support from LazyScots to DixieGal, mjh215, Krisk and RWood.

And I am so lucky to have a wonderful wife and two beautiful children who let me do what I love and who love me just the way that I am.

Matthew and Tom, this is for you. This is for both of you!

Now Marc, what were you thinking, posting a link to this thread? You knew I just had to read it all, and then to answer...there goes another evening!

(I mean, come on people: "Ceci n'est pas une porte". Genius!). Ah, C'est la vie.

Is there a background story for this? "Ceci n'est pas une pipe" has a great one too.

Some helpful questions to get you on your way:

Do you like chocolate, pastry, bacon, or Surströmming?

All of the above

Why can't you get to the next Paris get-together?

No one will pay for my plane ticket... Dad? dad!! Come on, pay me a ticket!

Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, Monty Python or Will Ferrell? (Helpful clue: don't say "Will Ferrell")

I'll go with Monty Python, but why not Will Ferrell? There must be a gazillion jokes I didn't get because of this!

Do you like dogs, cats, or both?

I always go both ways! Wait...don't take it in a weird way!

Are you for or against Cannibalism-Friday?

I second Lazyscot: who are we eating? Can I have my pick?

Can you lend me $15?

Will credit do?

Why did you pick your username?

Word play on my full name.

Why did you pick that shirt to go with those pants?

Picked the shirt to fit my tattoo - yeah, I know, if I start doing this, shopping is going to get pretty boring pretty quickly.

Does my bum look big in this?

Just don't turn your back on anybody and you'll be fine

In a poll do you vote for:
A. The right answer
B. The just answer
C. The wrong answer
D. Ignore Ravenne and vote for the blue one next to the fish

B, always. And how could I ignore Ravenne! She's so adorable!

What's the difference between a duck?

:stuckunderhercouchshakingfromtheshockandthankingL azyscotforyetanothercueonwhatIneedtodo: love to make those things as long as possible!

...and finally,

Can I get you a drink?

YES! PLEASE! Oups...no, sorry, I promised I wouldn't...

Psst! Make it, give it to ShortNCudlyAm and have her bring it to me, DGMa won't notice!

I've only got one main question: how, in the name of God, am I suppose to translate Super Secret Captain Midnight Decoder Badge ring??? I'm loosing sleep over this!

I wont reply on every post I'd like to never do, 'cause I know I just never shut up, even when I'm told to but I'll use this occasion to say, loud and clear, what I think of you lot:

I love you, I love you, I love you!!!

Silliness is The Way! It's the only Way!! I'm extremely happy to have found a little spot in here!!!

Did I say I loved you all? 'Cause I love you all! I want to name names, but I'm afraid I'll forget someone and offend him/her, but everyone, consider yourself loved, admired and somewhat stalked by a french-canadian crazy groupie!

Have I mentioned I'm a professionnal stalker? If you see a somber human shaped form moving around your garbage, it's me, collecting pieces of your lives, toenails and hair, to put in a wardrobe lit by black candles, where I chant odes to The One Next To The Blue Fish with Adrian and a couple of squirrels...don't be scared, we're just trying to bask in your glory....

Are you done with that Kleenex? I'll take it, thanks!

I had it commin...

While we're on the presentation side, I've realised in another thread (thanks DGMa) that not everyone knows that I'm Yvan's daughter. Technically, it makes me verencat la terrible, but excuse me if I don't embrace the name

Here is the Ultimate Stalker Song, to keep me in the mood...don't walk alone at night in Panama City's streets!

um... ok... *tap tap tap* this thing on? Ok. huh-hum.

Hi, my name is GraceKrispy and I'm a mobilereadaholic. Yes, I find myself checking at odd times, from my cell phone, navigating the frustrating waters that reading forums can be on a cell phone, from my trusty crackberry, just to see what's new. In the lounge. Half hoping someone will respond to me, half hoping they won't (for fear it'll be someone with some witty remark I just don't quite get or won't know how to respond to).

I like bacon, have been to Paris once (a 6hr layover on a trip to Germany in high school; I took a picture of the Eiffel tower with some awesome storm clouds in the background and some protest going on in front... I thought it was poetic. For all I know, it was a protest against panty lines- I don't read French... I don't speak it either), anyway, where was I? Oh, yes, I'm easily distracted, I don't know who two of the famous people you mentioned were, but I choose Monty Python and NOT Will Ferrell, I much prefer dogs, I'm all for cannibalism, but only if I pretend I'm a cow, turkey, or a big fat chicken, I could lend you $15, but you have to come and collect it yourself.

*big breath*

My username... it was a nickname someone dubbed me in college, I'm wearing a dumb school tshirt with my sweatpants and I picked it because it was on top, yes, your bum looks big. Try sucking it in a little. Or stop wearing skin tight potato sacks. That look isn't for anyone, really. I only vote if I'm confident my vote means something. Or if I'm really bored, or procrastinating work, or just to see my avatar hit another post.

I think, by now, you realize that all my responses are really nothing compared to the rich mountains of information you have probably inferred about my personality. I really like to answer questions. that one's a freebie.

I'm glad this post is here. I was scared to death of the lounge, initially. I finally just jumped right in, with my very scary PsockPppenguin (I can admit that now), and was pleasantly surprised that people actually responded to me, once in a while, and no one said "are you sure you wouldn't rather be doing something else with your time, other than posting on the lounge?" (true story- that happened to me, but in 3rd grade chorus during recess time.... it still hurts)

Ok, this is the problem with giving me an open mike, I just keep going until someone turns the power off. I'm sure I have so much more to say...... but I'll refrain. For now.

eeek! i love this thread! i love the bilbophy! but most of all I find all of you guys so witty!!!

:::taking mic from Grace....::

i want to follow my fellow addict GraceKrispy with an intro speech. But I have to say a few things before I continue...
1: I have horrible grammar! (and wouldn't have it any other way!)
b: I was once jailed for run on's!
iii: I'm no where nearly as funny(crazy?!) as many of you guys...

with that said....

I am on MR all day expct during my regularly scheduled breaks...
I admit I have no idea what you guys are talking about half the time. Sometimes I think its because i don't have a cat or cuz i don't have psock. I wondered maybe if i get a bare hand avatar, maybe i'd fit in a bit... but I never grew the balls.

I'm a young'n and I know alot of the LL'cool P'socks have years of reading and hanging out in germany on me... but hey I try to participate here an there. i dont try to be funny... :::twirling feet:::: i just want you guys to like me.... ::pening lunch box:::: I have dunkaroos to share..

Like grace, i am very afriad of the sillines and the trips to portugal. But i'll keep chiming in where i see i can say something that will CHANGE THE WOOOOOOORLD....

anyhow... a few things about me...

1. a few days ago I was bout to be kicked out of this forum since i lost my reader... but Dreams came to the rescue, she? gave me chocolate and my reader magically appeared by an angel.. (QZ?)

2. i am a bio major... (hence the loathe for phonics...)

3. i like ketchup on my pickles... hold the burger

4. i voted for obama cuz i hate freakishly white hair

5. i have ocd tendencies.

6. i have a genetic deposition to hate new yorkers. (you only get the mutant allele if you are born in ny)

7. i print out threads to read on the bus... =0 I just started laoding them up on my reader.... Asimov feels neglected cuz of psocks...
