I agree with Daithi, a large eReader would be nice. I have many pdf files that just don't look good on the current small eReaders. As a matter of fact I'm not going to buy any eReader until they come up with large enough screens. I'd expect an eReader with 12 inch screen. Portability is a non-issue. Most people already carry laptops of similar size. BTW, reading books on a laptop is unacceptable because of the stain on the eyes caused by flickering. E Ink displays don't have this problem.

If you can carry a 6 inch eReader then you can also carry a 12 inch one also.
Plus eReaders are not just for traveling. Most of the people use them at home so again portability is a non-issue. The market is already flooded with 6 inch eReaders so we don't need anymore of these devices. Now is a perfect time for some company to come up with a nice 12 inch screen. And when they are at it add support for other file formats such as djvu and chm. |

And please don't suggest getting a bigger purse unless you plan on being at my beck and call 24/7 to carry the thing for me. |

A 12" device wouldn't be any bigger than two pads of lined 8.5" x 11" paper or a couple of Newsweek or Time magazines and would weigh about the same as a loaf of bread.
I see a lot of people carrying around pads of paper and magazines but if you think you'd have trouble with something of this size and weight, maybe you should consider enrolling in a fitness program. ![]() Last edited by gastan; 11-25-2010 at 12:31 PM. |

I'd love a 12 inch reader. I don't think I'd carry it around however, for fear of breaking the screen. If it had a plastic substrate, I'd probably carry it around in a big tote bag; with glass I'd be a little nervous. I do carry around my 6 inch reader, but with a 12 inch or a 9.7 inch there is a lot more breakable surface area.

![]() It's in the standard Amazon cover and I place it next to my Mac Book Pro in a smallish backpack, (next to a K2). It's really never been an issue, not any more than the K2. 12" would fit just as easily, particularly if it had an on-screen keyboard. I am really surprised nobody has brought out a larger screen device. 9.7" is really too small for magazines and PDfs. |

what about a side of beef or a suckling pig? You know for those spur of the moment BBQ's, so why not add a tent in there as well?
