You cannot serve two mistresses (trust me on that one, if you try you wind up cheating on one or the other.) Therefore it is MobileRead and a little TV (think of it as a fling) or TV with a little MobileRead on the side. I choose the former.

Yea, Heroes has almost jumped the shark for me too. Lost is really getting out there also. ER lost me a long time ago, I only still watch it cause my wife seems to want to.

I mourn Boston Legal and Firefly.

Anyone watch Burn Notice... I think that one is right up there at having good writing. I tried to watch Life on Mars last night, it just didn't keep my interest.

Oh, and New Amsterdam seemed pretty good.... but I only watch the first few, I gotta go back to Hulu and watch the rest.

On the early pages of this thread pshrynk and I declared Burn Notice to be the best show currently on TV. Jeffery Donovan (ex The Pretender, he was the younger brother) and Bruce Campbell (Brisco County, Jr and Evil Dead) -- what more needs to be said.

New Amsterdam was a good show that should have been renewed beyond the 5 or 6 shows that Fox aired. Nice concept well executed.

Ah... see what I get for jumping into the end of a thread (hey that rhythms).

What about Journey Man... they canceled that right? I thought it was pretty good concept.

I don't know, but that guy from Rome was in it and he's pretty fantastic (looking).

I don't understand why people like Chuck or Eureka. They're not very well made. Chuck is pure B movie camp, and Eureka is formulaic.

As for series I like:
XIII (a miniseries I found on Hulu)
House
Lie to Me
BSG
SGA
Terminator
Heroes (the second half of the current season comes close to redeeming the first half)
Stream (a Whoopi Goldberg series I found on Hulu)

I also watch Bones, even though it jumped the shark at the end of the second season. The whole Angela's marriage issue was factually impossible.

I'm also watching Dollhouse. I have mixed feelings about it. It's not any good yet. Dollhouse is a Joss Whedon show that Fox thoroughly fucked up. The show might be better off dead. Time will tell.

I actually watch both of these. Chuck is just funny. It's a comedy. It is SUPPOSED to be campy. It's got some great eye candy for those not so funny/good parts.

Eureka... is just a fun show I can watch with the family. I know it won't be too gory or too racy.

Yes, neither is brilliant TV, no.

Face it, we are talking about TV here. If you want good stories and imaginative sets and provocative ideas read a book.

Don't forget Fiona. I really don't care what the actress' name is.

I did not like Chuck at all but I think Eureka is pure fluff that is fun to watch. I really like that it is so easy to build complicated machines.

I have noticed that not so many people have mentioned Life which is my favorite show running now. Is it just because people do not like it or is it broadcast on a channel that less people watch?

Doesn't anyone out there get their thrills with second-hand reality?

I'm a slave to "Seconds From Disaster" and "Air Crash Investigation". There's nothing like watching yet another tall building collapse on itself because a builder couldn't do basic math, or a passenger jet go pointy end first into a mountain because a maintenance guy used a number 3 bolt instead of a number 4.

I find myself watching these shows again and again, repeat after repeat.

I'm the guy you see in restaurants examining the pillars for micro cracks, and on planes, I'm the guy counting seat rows to both the front and rear exits.
