UK: Expansys refurbished model deal!! - Page 5

I'm with Tompe. I can understand not having up to the second accuracy involving items in stock. But in my case they showed stock for 3 solid weekdays after I ordered and paid. "In stock" is not too vague a concept for them I should hope. I'm glad you folks in the UK have had satisfactory experiences with them. Here in the States they ship out of a warehouse in Illinois so maybe not the same folks in charge over here?

I would expect that if you are in the UK you may still get it. General feedback from the other side of the pond is that they are an excellent company to buy from.They seem to have a very abstract concept of "in stock" on this side though.I just received notice that I will not be getting my order from them. No blue, no silver, and no prospect of getting any in = no business from me ever again.

Sounds like they bought a batch of refurbished 505s, and when they're gone, they're gone.

Expansys are great for buying "wierd stuff" that's hard to find elsewhere - replacement batteries for "obsolete" PDAs, that kind of thing. They are often not the cheapest place to buy, but, as I say, they have stuff that can be very difficult to find anywhere else.

Well, unfortunately I'm not in the UK... The guy told me, that I was the 13th. who ordered, so I have 12 order before me. On friday, the guy said, that now they order it from UK to deliver it to France, and after that they will ship it to Hungary. But today he told me, they cannot promise anything.... So, I dont know what to think.... :-(

When I click the link in my confirmation e-mail, I'm taken to a page that says they're "awaiting stock" and estimates that it'll be 11 days. I confirmed with Paypal that they took my money, so we'll see what happens. I sure hope I'm not giving Expansys a 15-30 day "loan". Unless the dollar rises in value, I'll end up losing money just due to the currency conversion.

On a positive note, I suppose this is a sign to Sony and other manufacturers that if there's an additional market to be had if only they'll lower their price.

I ordered one of these. Got an email today saying not available in my region. They really should have said that before charging my credit card (I did include my address in Australia) and sending me an email saying I ordered 1 and 1 was in stock.

So I'm very disappointed. I also missed out on a decent eBay price (though nowhere near as good as expansys's price) for the same item because I had already ordered from expansys and assumed since my credit card was charged that I would be getting it.

That's quite sloppy service.

There are about a hundred people in the que and he said they're not favouring people from the uk. Oh and they are out of stock and don't know when, and if they'll be getting new readers......Just thought I'd give you guys an update, for what it's worth. I'm still hoping...

It means that smiling is allowed to me?

I called to the UK and they said that maybe it would be sent today. I'm not very high on the cue so there's is still a possibility that I'll have to wait for the next batch - they still don't now when this will arrive...
So, let's wait... Anyway, it's a great deal...

Adamastorx - can you confirm when you placed your order, and how you placed it / paid for it (i.e. online at expansys.co.uk and paid by credit card, or telephone / ebay order)?

I placed my order on Friday (13th) at around 11PM GMT, and mine is still showing as awaiting stock.

If you placed your order on Saturday (14th) and are now showing as awaiting shipping, then I'll be a little annoyed with Expansys to say the least!

Just spoke with them on the phone, and mine is still awaiting stock. They've got no stock to fulfill my order, and no idea when they will be getting stock.

Currently they have 84 people with unfulfilled orders.

I'm not sure whether your change in status is an error, or if they aren't shipping them on a first come, first served basis.

my order is once again "Waiting for stock". It could be an error, because they're simply overloaded with orders for this refurbished PRS-505 and having problems in updating accurately the order status.
Let's wait and see. This morning on the phone I was told that the most probable was that I would have to wait for more stock, because there was to many orders... I think they don't know yet if they're receiving more units or not...

But I got a mail from the german departement, that they will ship the PRS-505 today.
