Don't understand, I didn't ask for tracking all books.

Think of the plugin as a small Storygraph/Hardcoverapp/Goodreads application. You "tell" those services what books you want to keep track of. They don't assume you want all of the books in their catalog considered for your reading statistics.

If you want books to immediately populate the tracker after you input a status, I can certainly plan for that feature, while keeping manual control for users who want it.

No, I don't want an automatically populated tracker, I want to get rid of the #tracked column - less is more. Just start tracking when status/start date is set.

By "populate the tracker" I mean for the books that you apply a status to in a column you choose, shows up in the tracker plugin. How and where (column) do you track your statuses?

- Currently working on Re-reads. How are you currently tracking rereads in Calibre? Do you track the date or just mark as reread?

- Type refers to the type of book, for example audiobook, which would need a totally different value for statistics than a print book. (Hours/Minutes vs Pages/Words). Calibre format is for File format only. For the reading statistics, Type and Format have nothing to do with each other. You don't have to use a type column.

Yep, that would be cool. I have a boolean column for status - read, dnf, unread - and an extra one for to read, but I don't mind to merge both into a new one.

The new update would allow you to use any column. So for your workflow you could do this:

Mode: User-selected column rule
Column: Status
Rule: Has any value

Then those books will show up on the plugin. No need to make a tracked column.

Originally, I thought I’d combine them both into a single column. However, as I have a few 'columns built from other columns' and some action chains that depend on them, that would probably be too much work.
I think a simple additional status column for your PI is likely to be easier. I’d populate it using a template based on my two old ones - read, dnf, to read.

Hi Varia, I haven't explored fully the new version and new features, but I wonder how the plugin's main dialog height works on custom scaled displays and low res screens.

That was part of what I was working on last night and today actually. It was a beast but found a solution that hopefully works for everyone's displays.
