Searching in a book is buggy, (the results don't show the snippet of text around the search term.). But I don't think they would have pulled for that.

I haven't noticed any issue (I only use kepub, though), I transferred several books (but out of habit, I always go back to the main menu before connecting to calibre), I even installed Koreader over it, since I wanted to try it again. |

Both new firmware have returned with the same version numbers.

Yes, Kobo found an issue with crash analysis and the new firmware. This was resolved on their end and the rollout has resumed.

So if I already installed 4.41.23145 before it was taken down, think there's any advantage to reinstalling?

This! 👆🏻 Although it is relatively easy to flip the cover on and off to wake up my KLC when I have screenshots enabled, it’s easier hitting those page turn buttons! Last edited by Cootey; 11-13-2024 at 05:57 AM. |

Firmware 4.41.23145
Anybody having battery life issues with their Libra Colour under this firmware? I realize I’ve been using it a lot lately, but I just gave it a full charge on December 2nd, and it’s down to 10% already two days later.
Also, I’ve noticed that when I open my Kobo sleep cover, the LC opens wildly far away from where I last left off. Sometimes many pages before, and sometimes many pages after my bookmark. I’ve even seen it jump forward 20 pages or more. Anyone noticing that behavior as well? These are new behaviors for me as of the recent from firmware. Brightness has been set anywhere from 3-33% and auto natural light is set to on. |

Have you tried disabling auto wake and sleep? It sounds like it might be waking up while it's closed and flipping pages somehow. Combined with the frontlight being on, that might explain the massive battery drain and inconsistent book positions.

I can charge my kobo (any of them) full and it will stay full for days. And then overnight it will drop from 99% to 10% and it seems even when I charge it it won't stay charged. Reboot and give it a full charge and the problem goes away. (Also, reading a 600 page book will do this, but that's kinda expected.) I think there are background tasks causing this. Possibly the same ones that cause the database corruption when you plug in USB and let calibre mess with the database. I think the background tasks get stuck and chew cpu until the battery is (nearly?) dead. I know wifi eats a lot of power, but normally wifi is turned off automatically when idle. if sync gets stuck, it keeps the wifi on until the battery is nearly dead. I see sync get stuck often and it can't be canceled sometimes. Turn off wifi and _then_ reboot is the best way to fix that. I think there use to be a bug in pdf search where the search would continue running even after you closed the book. I think (hope) that bug is long gone but sometimes I'm not sure. I don't know what else would chew cpu and eat the battery but I'm sure there's something I've missed. It's also possible to abuse your battery so that it won't take a charge anymore. And sometimes batteries fail even when you treat them well. So it could be software issue or hardware issue. |

I've never seen that overnight drop with any of my Kobos, not even the Sage. But then I never sync, automatic syncing is disabled and wifi is always off.
