My 7" Oasis with cover fits in most, but not all, of my cargo pants pockets. If ditching the cover would let it fit, I would do so, because the Oasis is rigid and the glass display face is sturdy. If wide bezel wasn't so excessively wide, the Oasis would fit comfortably in all my cargo pants.

I do, and that works well for things like web browsers. But not all apps behave gracefully with scaling. e.g., Tthe text might scale OK, but the icons and buttons do not. Or, the icons and buttons scale at the same amount as the text, and become too large that way and waste screen real estate. You would think by now that screen scaling would be a perfectly executed done deal, but it isn't. The results depend on the specific programs you run, the operating system you run, etc.
For a different example, look at out forum's screen in the screenshot below. Here it is displayed on my 2560x1440 monitor with the web browser window at full screen. Look at all the unused space to the sides. This website doesn't scale to fill the window size you give it. It just uses a small portion in the middle. Mind you, the website would be unusable IMHO if it actually scaled to this full width - you'd be turning your head side to side to use it on a 32" monitor. But I'm just using this as an example to illustrate that we haven't solved scaling issues 100% yet. |

If the Y-ben little reader I've seen had a light, I'd be all over that. I love my Forma, but it's too big to fit in purses that I can wear around my waist. (I also loathe carrying purses, and I broke my Kobo Aura by keeping it in my pocket) |

Yeah, but the Kobo Mini was 200 DPI.
Maybe you need a fork with Bluetooth. ![]() Or a foot switch? |

I loved reading on my Pocketbook 360 with its 5" 200DPI Vizplex screen until it became very crash prone. It also had the most ergonomic hardware/software combination of any ereader that I have used. I've been yearning for a modern reimplementation for many years but nothing has ever come close.

I do like the lightness of a 6" ereader. My 8" iPad mini is my favorite size for reading a book. While not as thin and light as my ereader, it's still in the "hold for hours without fatigue".
Not so my 10" Kindle Fire tablet. That's a nice size to watch a movie and 2 page up reading. But it's just too thick and heavy for me to read in comfort for long periods. My 8" Kindle Fire Tablets are a nice size for reading. Just thicker and heavier than an iPad mini. Interestingly my iPhone 16 Pro Max - is now too heavy for long reading in comfort, IMHO. I think I'd prefer an 8" Kindle eInk for optimal size and weight for reading novels. |

The 13" Sony DTP-S1, which has a Mobius eink display, feels quite light. |
