The Incomplete Enchanter series by L. Sprague deCamp and Fletcher Pratt is very funny. I've never seen it in an electronic format though.
And another nod to Christopher Moore - one of the few writers who can make me laugh out loud. Definitely more adult than most of the books listed here, and not for the easily offended (Lamb in particular is going to offend some folks). |

Seconding Robert Rankin, Harry Harrison, and Christopher Moore. I expect all of these will soon be available in all sorts of 'e' formats.
But I don't know about my personal favorite "The Compleat Enchanter" by L Sprague de Camp. I think it is too old to have the popular exposure, and not old enough to be in the public domain. |

I found the Millenial Contest/Azzie Elbub series by Robert Sheckly and Roger Zelazny to be uproarously funny. They include:
Bring Me The Head Of Prince Charming If At Faust You Don't Succeed A Farce To Be Reckoned With Also Bored Of The Rings is an hilarious sendup of The Lord Of The Rings. Ester Friesner's Demon, Gnome, and Majyk series are fun reads as well. |

Monkey See
I would recommend reading "Monkey See" by Walt Maguire.
It's is a highly informative and a truly laugh-out-loud read. It's a social satire, how-to guide for creating talking monkey children, advice column for dealing with teenagers, analysis of cultural values, and the story of primate world domination all bound together. Very funny and a very quick read. |

Poul Anderson's Hoka!Hoka!Hoka! and the sequal Hokas Pokas! are pretty good and nice and light hearted. Hokas Pokas! is available as an ebook on Baen's web site and Hoka!Hoka!Hoka! is available as a pbook, I think that the first one is the superior of the two.

Thanks for pointing out that there are more stories, The hoka books are actually collections of short stories.
Hoka!Hoka!Hoka! and Hokas!Pokas! are collections of previously published stories, Hoka!Hoka!Hoka! contains all of the stories in Earthman's Burden (which is also a collection of hoka stories) as well as two of the stories from Hoka! (which is, its self, yet another collection of hoka stories). Hokas!Pokas! contains the story Star Prince Charlie, among others. So, if you want the whole thing, kitchen sink and all, then you will either need three books...Hoka!Hoka!Hoka!, Hokas!Pokas!, and Hoka! or the omnibus. This looks like a good place to stick this (that'swhatshesaid): Amazon just notified me of a new Connie Willis on the way in a few days:

For subtle humor you might try The Flying Sorcerers by David Gerrold & Larry Niven. Not sure if it's in ebook or not. I can also second Ron Goulart & some of Lawrence Watt-Evans (the one that comes to mind is The Mis-Enchanted Sword).
I have one that I haven't yet read that *should* be funny, Expecting Someone Taller by Tom Holt. Hope to get that read next month, but all I can say right now is that the synopsis sounded good. |
