I’ll generally defend Kobo a decent amount, but we’re now about six months out from the Sage being announced and AFAIK there have been few if any power covers for sale despite Kobo insisting they’re coming soon.
There seem to be some available in Europe. But sadly I have to say the powercover is very, very buggy. Mine often drains overnight from 90% to 0%, even when the Sage has also been over 90%. It's basically useless.

Agree.useless

Can we make some adjust to that?if device is lower than 50%,the power cover works, otherwise power cover always drains itself for trying to charge the device till it drains out.

It's really worse than a powerbank

The interaction between the power cover battery and the Sage's takes some getting used to, but I wouldn't call it useless. If both are fully charged to 100% the cover drains completely first. If both are partly charged, the cover charges the Sage up a bit until it drains, unless the Sage gets to 100% before that happens.

I like the look and feel of the cover also. It's overpriced for what it is, of course, though so is every official Kobo (and Kindle) cover.

That's not how it's supposed to work. You are not supposed to get used to it.

Really, how else would it work? And you have obviously read the documentation for how it works, so please point to it so that I can read it.

Thanks for confirming that I made the right decision by not buying one. Very happy to use one of my powerbanks when needed

I don't get it. Does it only work properly when you never take the Sage out? The Oasis 1 charging cover worked perfectly in any situation, whether you took the Oasis out and put it back later or kept it in all the time. The Sage cover seems to work only when you don't take the Sage out at all. If I take it out, read and put it back, the cover will drain itself, even though both have 80-90% juice left. IMO that's not how it should work and it's not mentioned anywhere either.

Very well said!

I would expect the battery cover to work the same way as a backup battery.

Sorry, but how else would it work? The cover is there to keep the device charged. If you take the device out, use it for a while, then put it back in, then you want the battery in the device charged for the next time you use it without the cover. Charging the device from the cover only when the device has run out means you will frequently get to the point where you can't use the device by itself.

This just fits with what happens when you plug the device into a charger, or a powerbank. It charges. It doesn't wait until the battery level has almost run out, it starts immediately as soon as the charger is detected. The PowerCover is just a charger and is working exactly the same way as using a powerbank, except that it is more integrated with the device it is charging.

No, it isn't the same at all. An example: I take the Sage out to read. Both it and the cover are at 100%. I read a couple of hours, then put the Sage back in the cover. The Sage is at 90%. The next day, when I take the Sage out, it's 100% as expected, but the cover is 0%. Why? Logically I'd expect the cover to be at 90%, as it only had to charge the 10% the Sage had lost. Why did it drain itself?

Yes,as I mentioned up,cover's battery vanishes itself.it's supposed to charge the sage below 30%or 50%.But the reality is that it always try to do the 99% to 100% till over.......then why dont i use a powerbank???
So the quetion is can we change the charging policy.or just waiting for Kobo if they think over it someday???

Yeah. It seems the cover has no idea how to charge incrementally, it's 100% or nothing.

That (IMHO) is a defect.

You're making the assumption here that the Sage would have stayed at 90% overnight. For all you know the battery might well have totally drained overnight due to other issues

No, it wouldn't. I used the Sage for several weeks without the cover, and I have used it without the cover recently as well. It never drains while sleeping.
