Firmware Images, Customizing the Tolino, & More - Page 5

Hi,
in the hope that this thread is still being read, I am looking for a working image file for a tolino page 2.
I recently got an old one from a friend, and it has the usual symptoms of a defect sd card. It still boots from the integrated 16gb SanDisk card and works more or less, but does not write any changes to that card. Both adding and deleting books results in them being gone/there again after restart. Even WLAN settings and browser bookmars are not saved. Factory reset did nothing.

I am trying to clone it with different tools, with no success so far - it still starts from the old card, but not the new one.
What size range of sd cards does the tolino page 2 accept? The 16 gb one has 8 gb unused space, and I am currently trying to clone to an 8 gb card that I have available.
Can anyone send me a pn / link to an image file?

So I managed to write a shortened version of the 16 GB image file (HxD to cut off end of file, only keeping a total of the filesize that could be read from the 8GB) to the 8 GB sd card, and it boots. However, it is very slow compared to the previous card - probably the 8 GB "new" card is even older than what was built in.

Before I buy a new card - does anyone have experience what exactly the tolino page 2 can handle? I read on some sources that 32GB sd hc will work / is the max, but can it handle larger ones like sd xc?

Check what motherboard you have, I have 4A2, maybe there are other options.

Hi,
I'm trying to install custom hyphenation dictionaries to my Tolino Shine 5 (fw version 5.8 in kobo mode) but it doesn't seem to work. I'm copying KoboRoot.tgz from this thread to .kobo folder but after ejecting the device and disconnecting the cable nothing happens.

I wonder if this is something related to 5.x firmware or Tolino specific? I'm new to Kobo ecosystem and will appreciate any help.
