An option to show a toolbar was added in version 4.3, and in version 4.4 the ability to customise it was added.

yes, and the terrible all in caps is a bit much. I'm using the update and have no issue other than not being able to sticky the viewer settings to the side.

In reality the site admins could, and perhaps should, close this thread.

It seems to be specific to user problems, many of which I had, with the first iteration of 4, which was a major overhaul of the GUI with what I suspect to be not enough beta testing before release.

More recent iterations seem to have resolved the problem so now the thread is no longer relevant and served its purpose to give feedback to Kovid and the development team which they saw.

It should probably be closed so that people aren't confused with other versions and also be retained for historical relevance of product feedback, but if people have problems with newer versions of 4, they definitely shouldn't be responding here.
