You forgot "away" on the end of the sentence, but yes, I think that would have been worse.

[WHACK!]

"Duck", says Evil-Marc.

He looks down at LazyScot's unconscious form. "Hmm, I'd have thought he'd have worked up some kind of premonitory sensitivity by now. I guess I owe pshrynk a Zany Carter".

"Adrian! Chuck 'em in the tip truck, will you? Let's go play Mad Scientist again! (Yes, yes, I'll be Igor this time)...".

With the unconscious bodies of pshrynk and LazyScot now resting on a tip truck bed full of the soft and gentle buzz and fur of a snoozing, fully-armed batallion of pirate ninja squirrels, Adrian and Evil-Marc swing into the cabin. The tip-truck sputters and roars into life like a breaching whale with a head cold, and slowly crawls away along the firetrail. Slite stands in the humped middle of the track, randomly ducking in perfectly judged time to passing, low-flying, depraved geese, and having fleeting flashes of wonder at his burgeoning precognitive skills. His eye lifts to the receding truck's tailgate, to meet (perfectly timed) a small, furry head with diamante eyes popping over the top. The squirrel looks over his shoulder and down, turns, twinks an eye at Slite, and says, quite clearly, "Giggle", before dropping below the tailgate again.

Slite ducks automatically as a flock of depraved geese pass low, following the truck like seagulls after a prawn-trawler.

Slite turns, and walks the other way, laughing hollowly.

"uuhh... huh.. uugghh." LazyScot incoherently mumbles, slowly coming back to something like consciousness.

"heehee... haa.. stop it." giggles LazyScot, and he tries to sit up, and stop whatever is tickling his bare feet. Unfortunately the cords tying him down are far to strong and all he is able to do is raise his head and look down at his feet.

"heeehheee... ARGGHH." LazyScot giggles manically as he passes out again, upon seeing his feet being tickled by several squirrel tails...

"uuhh... huh.. uugghh." LazyScot utters in Groundhog (flippin' squirrel family revenge) Day like situation.

Warning illogic contradiction implosion in 5 .... 4 .... 3 ... 2 ... 1.....". LazyScot's head shakes violently, his eyes glaze over, roll round and little puffs of smoke escape from his ears, and he returns to his GroundHog Day existance.

"heehee... haa.. stop it." giggles LazyScot, and he tries to sit up, and stop whatever is tickling his bare feet. Unfortunately the cords tying him down are far to strong and all he is able to do is raise his head and look down at his feet.

Why does this scene make me think I need to re-read "Gulliver's Travels"? Are the squirrels actually Lilliputians in disguise?

Oh, now were getting complicated, lemurs are really squirrels in disguise who are really lilliputians in disguise, oh my, the implications are staggering. Does that mean that Jonathan Swift was really the evil overlord behind the invasion of the pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent, meta-evil, time-travelling, dark jedi, pirate ninja squirrels???
